ChanceSchmerr Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 We're in Trogir, Croatia on our post-Thesis vacation, and tomorrow headed by car to Dubrovnik to see the city, followed by a drive to Kotor to spend the night, and Tuesday we'll visit the old town of Kotor, and spend a few hours on the beach near Budva before driving back to Trogir.... Anyone else done any travelling around these parts before? Recommendations for good restaurants, tips, or even cigar shops of note? Would love to hear about it if you have! Thanks mates!
SokaKiel Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 Mate, you should have messaged me! I've been cruising up and down the Croatian coast all summer! So many awesome little hidden spots to discover along this coast and on the islands! The only decent cigar shop I've found so far is in the old town of Split. It's called Havana Cigar Shop, owned by the importer of Habanos to Croatia, Camelot. Located in a small alley in old town you easily miss it as they're not allowed to advertise tabac and cigars in the window any more! The name of the alley is 'Zadarska'. I hope the traffic has eased down on the roads as the high season is over now. In June it took me 7 hrs to drive down from Makarska to Dubrovnik due to the border controls at Neum where you have to cross through Bosnia Herzegovina for a few K's. I'll send you a PM with my phone number, I'll be in Dubrovnik on Monday, unfortunately already busy for dinner and flying out on Tuesday morning. But maybe we can squeeze in a short smoke somewhere! Please enjoy the trip, Croatia and Montenegro are stunning countries, great food, lovely people and so many historic towns and villages! Best, Leif 1
Sok454 Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 Damn. Was in split/hvar/Dubrovnik in July. Awesome time.
First Lady Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 I will be there next year visiting my father in law , so looking forward to it
Bennettjohnl Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 I visited 15 years ago and always wanted to go back. Maybe I'll get back before another 15 years go by.
potpest Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 Been thinking about going for the last couple of years. Recently watched rick steins travel/cooking show where he travelled through croatia. Looked so beautiful and unspoiled from tourism, definitely on my to do list.
