When I see photos of jars I've noticed that a single stick, usually in the middle, is typically wrapped in white (tissue?) paper. What's the history or significance of this? Thanks in advance.

Interesting note: The Cohiba Piramides Extra Jars have two cigars wrapped in paper.

Picked up the last jar of Noellas the other day at the LCDH in Montreal. Having the one wrapped made it easier to get one out to have a look. Putting it back in foot up makes it easy to replace without damaging it

Very practical and makes sense. Similar concept to the ribbon-wrapped stick in NC boxes. Makes me wish they would do this for CC boxes (excluding cabs), I always seem to have to dig my nail in to get the first one out, usually nicking the wrapper.

I always use something small (typically the side of my pocket knife) and go in from the foot and pull the first stick up like that.

When I open a full box, I just stand it on its spine and pry open the box. With the top layer of cigars against the lid, it's easy to take out the first cigar.

You can get the middle one out, but don't try putting it back in. So, wth, just had to smoke it.

Put it in head first and it works well.

Sage advice for many of life's predicaments...

They're actually made for sharing, you throw the jar down on the floor at the end of a meal Greek style, and you all pick out a cigar from the wreckage.

It developed from the historic Greek-Cuban trade relations deals that Ataturk forged in the early 1900s
