Shrody234 Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 When I see photos of jars I've noticed that a single stick, usually in the middle, is typically wrapped in white (tissue?) paper. What's the history or significance of this? Thanks in advance. Jimmy
shlomo Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 To help pull out the first cigar without damaging it. 2
Lotusguy Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 Interesting note: The Cohiba Piramides Extra Jars have two cigars wrapped in paper.
LLC Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 Picked up the last jar of Noellas the other day at the LCDH in Montreal. Having the one wrapped made it easier to get one out to have a look. Putting it back in foot up makes it easy to replace without damaging it
Shrody234 Posted September 19, 2015 Author Posted September 19, 2015 Very practical and makes sense. Similar concept to the ribbon-wrapped stick in NC boxes. Makes me wish they would do this for CC boxes (excluding cabs), I always seem to have to dig my nail in to get the first one out, usually nicking the wrapper.

raymond5737 Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 Sometimes I use a credit card on the head. If you have ever messed up getting the first one out, it can be a bit nerve wracking. Steady she goes. 1
Shrody234 Posted September 19, 2015 Author Posted September 19, 2015 All these tricks....seems like there is an easier way...like a ribbon! I wish Habanos would take a page from someone else
Fuzz Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 When I open a full box, I just stand it on its spine and pry open the box. With the top layer of cigars against the lid, it's easy to take out the first cigar. 1
CanuckSARTech Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 Just use a chainsaw and cut the box in half. 1
Fuzz Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 Just use a chainsaw and cut the box in half. Better yet, burn the box and smoke all the cigars at once. 3
stogieluver Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 You can get the middle one out, but don't try putting it back in. So, wth, just had to smoke it.

TCContender Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 Put it in head first and it works well. Sage advice for many of life's predicaments... 4
CaptainQuintero Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 They're actually made for sharing, you throw the jar down on the floor at the end of a meal Greek style, and you all pick out a cigar from the wreckage. It developed from the historic Greek-Cuban trade relations deals that Ataturk forged in the early 1900s
