El Presidente Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 In the poll attached I have listed the Petit Robustos. What in your eyes is the best performing Petit Robusto right now? You can select two Now the Petit Robusto is certainly not my favourite size. However it is a boom vitola for HSA alongside the "fatty" Half Coronas (Upmann Have Corona/Monte Media corona/D6). Don't get me wrong, I can see a market for these, a reason why they exist. They just aren't my cup of tea as I would rather reach for a petit corona, corona or corona extra. The reason I have put up this poll today is an e-mail received asking for the best performing Petit Robusto right now. i thought it best to put it to members who smoke these regularly for a more informative viewpoint. Let us know your top two picks....and if you have the time...state what it is you enjoy...what it is that those two cigars consistently deliver.
BOOIE100 Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 I would like to know as well as I have considered pulling the trigger on either HUHC or Monte media.
Dimmers Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 "pest performing" as in best for incubating tobacco beetles ?!? 1
melies Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 "pest performing" as in best for incubating tobacco beetles ?!? My thought exactly, to attract "Pest" that would have to be the R&J or the Vegeros or maybe by Pest you mean, smooching friends... that would have to be the Petit Edmundo hahaha 1
Fuzz Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 My thought exactly, to attract "Pest" that would have to be the R&J or the Vegeros or maybe by Pest you mean, smooching friends... that would have to be the Petit Edmundo hahaha Wouldn't consider my "smooching friends" as pests! Now "mooching friends", that's a different story. 1
treberty Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Never had one... prefer a smaller ring gauge for that length. Should maybe try a couple in the list - would probably go for the Hoyo or the D5.
melies Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Wouldn't consider my "smooching friends" as pests! Now "mooching friends", that's a different story. Yeah, first they smooch then they mooch!!! (a little bit of a language barrier )
santela Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Hmm, HdM in the lead, maybe I should try one some time.
garbandz Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 the Parti is the only one on the list I have tried. Just do not crave the vitola............
RWhiz Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 Funny, the only one on this list I've tried is the Monte Petite Edmundo. While I really liked it, I haven't gone back, or looked for other cigars in this size.
TCContender Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 The Hoyo and PE are the two that I have had the best luck with. I have a box of the D5s as well, but they are wildly inconsistent. I have five RJSC from a split, but have not tried them yet. No experience at all with Quintero or Vaqueros marcas.
Bartolomeo Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 The size serves a great purpose, unfortunately I dont ever see them priced right in reality for what they are 3
JohnS Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 Monte PE love the little suckers Definitely...same here!
Nrengle Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 Only has the Hoyo but do love it. Reminds me of a quicker Epicure 2 or Grand Epicure.
busdriver Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 I find the difference in peoples tastes amazing and a true reminder to each thier own, just as long as they are enjoying it!
Habana Mike Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 If judging performance can be based on the number smoked and/or at hand then the Hoyo and Monte win by a landslide for me. Great examples each of their respective marcas to my taste and I enjoy the dimensions.
hjmclain22 Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 Does Trinidad Vigia count? Mine are young, but damn the one I've smoked tastes fantastic.
Habana Mike Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 Regardless how it's classified, I think the Vigia's a little overweight for this fighting class.... 2
Jah Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 The Hoyo is my favorite. At first, I had no love whatsoever for the size, but every marca I've smoked in it has been pretty damn good. Sent from my LG-H811 using Tapatalk
vintagerodshop Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 Oh My! I am starting to panic! I don't think I have tried a single one. Dam off to the B&M I go.
Optic101 Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 Monte PE love the little suckersSame here !
