Popular Post Habana Mike Posted August 24, 2015 Popular Post Posted August 24, 2015 Monte 80th prerelease from a respectable regular to Habana - unbanded. Another heavyweight from HSA 6 1/2" x 55RG Enrobed by a supple, taut and silky delicate golden wrapper - reminds me of one of those beach volleyballers early in the season. Toasty tobacco and oak notes prelight, perfect resistance on the draw. Graham cracker, cedar, cream. Fairly strong and full bodied. Rich aromas. Caramel, vanilla, cinnamon toast. Light earthiness. More woodiness, hints of salt - like salted caramel. Solid burn, very firm ash. Seco sweetness, reminiscent of a Hamlet. A touch tannic in the final third. Spicy on the lips. If it weren't for the girth on this one I'd say excellent all the way around. Making my jaw sore though.... 11
archosaur Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 Nice review Mike! Flavors sound great, but I am with you on the size.
RijkdeGooier Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 One of the better ones recently released. Loved the ones I had over the course of the last couple of weeks.
Bartolomeo Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 Nice write up, dying to try one, thanks for sharing!
