Nice draw, good amount of smoke Getting a bit more sweeter Feels like a mix of a fresh RyJ Ex4 and CoRo. Half way Moving to more milk coffee with a hay undertone. Some backing spices Last inch Licorice, slight increase in strength to medium Feels like it has a bit a problem with the outside RH, purged it. Cleans up a bit on the flavor. Nice smoke, a bit fresh for my taste but a good mood changer. Can see them more elegant with some time on it. 40 minutes smoke. wolfain Posted August 20, 2015 Share Posted August 20, 2015 My guess is that Monte is a big brand, and the sizable chunk of habanos revenue comes from the Monte cristo label. I read somewhere Monte cristo generates 29% of all revenue and upmann is something like 2-3% all in m. Marketing cash grab. Unless this tastes really amazing. Great review. For me Monti clearly wins over HUHC (the latter had low profile for me). Had a 2015 media with nearly maduro shade, and smoked already great ROOT. manicdvln Posted October 20, 2015 Share Posted October 20, 2015 I tried one in France, just like every other Montecristo, it smells great but tastes nothing out of the ordinary for brand, gets boring fast. Lots of vanilla cream, hint of cocoa, shitload of smoke, surprised on good construction, doesn't burn out unlike Upmann HC. Harsh burn at the last third. Does its job to give you a sample of signature montecristo flavor.
