Humidors Questions?

Hi just bought a large humidor(capacity +1000). Need to understand the humidifier...Have a Oasis magna humidifier, it was holding at 70% humidity...for the past few weeks, just notice the humidity went up...foam inside seem dry....just added some distilled water temp is now at 72%...wondering if it would be better to

Use beads instead of the foam ?
