Popular Post rbelcastro Posted July 29, 2015 Popular Post Posted July 29, 2015 My oldest brother was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer a few years ago. During the period where I would accompany him for his experimental treatments we discovered we both like cigars, and loved Cubans. We were best men at each others' weddings, and best friends until life got in the way. A few months ago he expressed that he wanted me to have his cigars, and to take them now as he hadn't the strength to care for them any longer, I moved them to my house(about 40 ccs and 30 ncs). There were several HTF cigars in there. My two son's and I decided to each smoke one on the day of his passing. At 6 foot 2, Randy was a great athlete and had a quick wit, always making you laugh. I say was because he has passed to a better place. He suffered greatly for the final few months, weighing 65 pounds at the end. I purposely chose this cigar to smoke in his honor. I know it was a weird choice, but he was aware of what a fake and what was not. This cigar meant something to him or he would have pitched it. I think he would have appreciated that I didn't go for the aged Lusi or "real" Cohiba. I certainly don't condone smoking a cigar that is obviously not real, but I have to admit...this one was rather good. Could have been the state of mind as well...so who know. Here is the irony. We never had a cigar together. We exchanged some on several occasions(most of which I got back). Hopefully we can fire one up together in heaven. 14
