Ruined my smoking spot...

So at the market today, I decided to pick up this eco friendly insect repellent to prepare my smoking spot for tonight's festivities. I sprayed the entire area. Once completed My senses were assaulted by the overpowering scent of geraniol, the active ingredient in citronella candles. My nose is ruined! I can't smell anything but! I can only pray my sense of smell/taste and the habitability of my deck return soon. DEET here I come...

Same exact thing happend to me last year with that Eco friendly bug spray. It actually permeated my house. Yes it keeps bugs away and all living creatures including humans .

I really liked deet until a friend had some freshly sprayed on his legs, hopped in my car door and his legs brushing against the door ate into the plastic door panel. Then I remembered the old days of deet, how it eats through Poly things like tents etc. I know not all of them do it but it can create a mess to.

I remember jungle trekking, we were all covered in DEET, still getting eaten alive, the next morning we wake up and our guide tells us not to put any on, instead he walks us over to a plant (I'm 95% sure this was just lemon grass) we crushed up a couple of sticks in our hands, spread it over our limbs and nobody got bitten all day.
