Padron Sampler...

What budget? I don't need food next month....yes, I wore my 'cigar gang' colors.

I just had to.  Tried one at my local cigar lounge and was hooked.  I think I still have some Orellana sticks left in my humidor.

I've been eyeballing these. How would you describe it?

For me, a lot of the flavor profiles I notice in other cigars such as dark chocolate and coffee are more pronounced. The cigar has an earthy aroma/flavor to it. I use that term a lot with my cigars but it can mean different things...most of the time it is that nice barnyard aroma you get of freshly cut hay. For this cigar however it is more of how a forest would smell after a rain shower. That is a very subjective description given not everyone lives in the same environment. That all combines or is because of the Brazilian wrapper and that gives it its unique flavor. If you had a CAO BX3 or Brazilia, there is some similarity, but the emphasis is on how the flavors seem to come out more with the Amazon.

With that being said, I know a lot of people who do not like this cigar. Like a lot of other cigar lines out there, the thought is if CAO is simply creating a limited product so they can sell it at a higher price. I am a big fan of the Orelana when it came out and I still believe it to be a slightly better cigar than this year's version. With that being said, I got a chance to try it out first and that made up my mind to get a box if I could get my hands on it.

Hope this helps.

Loving the option to buy 5 packs of NC I've yet to try or are just priced so low you can't pass  up the deal, even if you already have a box or two. Warped Cloud Hopper 53, AF Rosado R44, AF Work of Art, and Oliva V Lancero.

Love those Rosados!! Great blend!

Are these similar to any of the other Fuente lines? I love the Hemingway Maduros.

I think it's similar to Don Carlos line.

I've only smoked a handful of Don Carlos belicosos and quite a few from the sungrown line. To me the rosados are much more approachable and mellow. Really easy to smoke and mostly a baking spice/cinnamon vibe. Give them a go if they're easily accessible to you. I'm from Canada so I usually only get to smoke Fuentes if I bring some back from the States.

Finally!

I've scored a few these sticks when I can find them on sale. I think they're good but I'm not quite sure they're good enough to justify their MSRP.
