Popular Post Pmo13 Posted February 22, 2024 Popular Post Posted February 22, 2024 Finally managed to secure a box of the Maduro Olmecs! Absolutely beautiful blend from Foundation, especially with an ice cold Dr Pepper or Cream Soda. 13

Popular Post Ardan Posted March 1, 2024 Popular Post Posted March 1, 2024 I just had to. Tried one at my local cigar lounge and was hooked. I think I still have some Orellana sticks left in my humidor. 9

Popular Post puromaniac Posted March 1, 2024 Popular Post Posted March 1, 2024 Not a purchase, but a thoughtful gift from a good friend. 10

For me, a lot of the flavor profiles I notice in other cigars such as dark chocolate and coffee are more pronounced. The cigar has an earthy aroma/flavor to it. I use that term a lot with my cigars but it can mean different things...most of the time it is that nice barnyard aroma you get of freshly cut hay. For this cigar however it is more of how a forest would smell after a rain shower. That is a very subjective description given not everyone lives in the same environment. That all combines or is because of the Brazilian wrapper and that gives it its unique flavor. If you had a CAO BX3 or Brazilia, there is some similarity, but the emphasis is on how the flavors seem to come out more with the Amazon. With that being said, I know a lot of people who do not like this cigar. Like a lot of other cigar lines out there, the thought is if CAO is simply creating a limited product so they can sell it at a higher price. I am a big fan of the Orelana when it came out and I still believe it to be a slightly better cigar than this year's version. With that being said, I got a chance to try it out first and that made up my mind to get a box if I could get my hands on it. Hope this helps. 2 1
Popular Post Pmo13 Posted March 6, 2024 Popular Post Posted March 6, 2024 Not a huge haul by any stretch of the imagination, but a cool one all the same. Popped into my local shop in Boston and managed to snag a pair of OpusX specifically blended for them by Fuente, as well as a 2023 PCA Padron Black Maduro. From what I know of the Opus, it’s very similar (though not exact) to the the 25th anniversary blend Fuente put out in recent years. And since I got the last two, I was able to take the box which will now be loaded with my cutters/lighters etc on top of my humidor. Both are rather large sticks (6-3/4x50 for the Opus and 6-3/4x54 on the Padron) so that takes a bit of the sting out of their prices. $40 each but hey, how often do you come across these kinda things in the wild, and the box is special to me as I bought my first cigars (and many since) at LJP. Plus bonuses pay out on Friday, so damn the torpedos! 16
Popular Post Lt4-396 Posted March 6, 2024 Popular Post Posted March 6, 2024 Loving the option to buy 5 packs of NC I've yet to try or are just priced so low you can't pass up the deal, even if you already have a box or two. Warped Cloud Hopper 53, AF Rosado R44, AF Work of Art, and Oliva V Lancero. 12

I've only smoked a handful of Don Carlos belicosos and quite a few from the sungrown line. To me the rosados are much more approachable and mellow. Really easy to smoke and mostly a baking spice/cinnamon vibe. Give them a go if they're easily accessible to you. I'm from Canada so I usually only get to smoke Fuentes if I bring some back from the States. 1
Popular Post Pmo13 Posted March 11, 2024 Popular Post Posted March 11, 2024 After reading reviews (and smoking a few lanceros) I decided to pull the trigger on some Trinity Robustos to give them a shot/potentially find a new daily. They just arrived and my good gracious, I don’t think I’ve ever encountered sticks that genuinely smell like chocolate. Nose in the bag was like literal herseys kisses. If these things smoke half as good as they smell, I’ll clean the place out next time I’m putting in an order! The Queen Coronas were a prize from a review contest, and thought I'd thrown them in to get a full family picture! Love the formats FoH team, keep fighting the good fight! 11
Popular Post Ford2112 Posted March 15, 2024 Popular Post Posted March 15, 2024 These landed today. The Robusto Trinity smells like a chocolate prune. The Ninfas smell a bit hay like and barnyard sweetness. 14

Popular Post TheCigarslayer Posted March 26, 2024 Popular Post Posted March 26, 2024 Lovely set of (expensive) cigars. Always wanted to try the Annivesario Double R and decided one rainy day to go out and grab em. It was a 95+ point cigar all day, and smoked for an astonshingly long time (I put it out after 2+ hours with still more to go). Ended up so good, I splurged on a box. 11
