Hi all,

Just a quick one, I have a friend/colleague travelling to the island in a few days and I've advised him of the different custom houses to check out that I've read from info on here and other that have recommended.

He just told me that he's only allowed to bring back 50 sticks before having to pay duty. Can someone advise best options, I thought you were allowed 100 sticks. He's travelling via Canada and obviously doesn't want to get hit on the way back in. He also mentioned concern about Cuban custom officials removing cigars that are not properly boxed/legit looking. I advised if he has receipts from the custom houses this should be good enough.

Could someone kindly clarify so I can make sure he's best advised on his options - I personally told him to load up on the custom rolled! Also if you guys have any opinions on current regular production boxes that are good.

Thanks

The limit is only 50 cigars into Canada.Traveling through he might get away with more but that depend on if he has to go through Canada customs.

If he's getting custom rolls, most LCDH's will write up a Factura. Jorge at Club Habana definitely does it IIRC. Otherwise, tell him to ask for the rollers business card. Most of them will have some to hand out. Attach the cards to each rollers bundle and he should be fine. It's on the boxes where they will ask for the Factura.

Thank you Sir - yes he will be transiting in Canada for one night before heading to London (UK)
