Ken, what is it that convinces you that they are actually making money selling these? Is there actual evidence that they are 'making a fortune' on these cigars, as you claim? I wonder if anyone has actually bought a box of these, or if it's just a gimmick to produce buzz for the brand and lend prestige by association to the cheaper cigars of theirs that people do actually buy.

Two sides of the same coin.

Unless someone can show me they are going broke then they are making some level of operational profit...perhaps a bloody good one.

Their marketing message is consistent. Absurd.....but consistent and that is half the battle.

pretty much agree with what rob says.

but you may be right and these may be 'loss leaders' to get publicity, but it does seem, from the responses here if nothing else, people are buying them. but then even if not making the dosh on these, they are making it somewhere and these are very much part of that.

to be honest, i'd never heard of them till they appeared on this forum a while back. but they are talked about here more than any other non cuban. and i discovered that apparently it was one of these clinton had when meeting monica. not bad publicity.
