Buying a property in Cuba could be quite difficult I suppose. You are aware of the current political system?

I think he knows. And it's exactly because of this he is asking.

You might be able to pick up a house if you pick up a wife in Cuba. As a non citizen I think you need to prove you stay in the area enough to warrant a chance to buy a property. Profit as a rental, almost impossible. Under communism profit is a dirty word. Although some locals "host" non native cubans, the cubans involved usually reside on the property. If the authorities find your making rental income without the proper permissions you can end up in jail. Jail is a bad holiday.

Yeah, i wouldn't trust purchasing property there. I would imagine the title deed (if they have one) isn't worth the paper it's written on. I doubt there's much protection for a home owner. Just stick to investing in Aus or London mate :)

people have looked at it for years. you'd need very good, reliable local contacts, at this stage. and i'd suggest only doing it with dosh you can afford to toss away.

My understanding on this topic is, even Cuban people do not own the land. they own the home!, but not the property it is on.
