I remember a story my old man used to tell me. Back in the early 70's, the prisoners at Long Bay jail rioted for some reason or other. In order to placate the prisoners, officials called the Pagewood KFC and placed an order for two hundred 2 piece dinner boxes (my father was the night manager back then).

Perhaps the prisoners are not rioting for cigarettes... they're just hoping for some KFC? lol3.gif

Mmmm...isn't Hot & Spicy back in for a short time?

How ironic if authorities placated a Hot & Spicy situation with Hot & Spicy KFC!

KFC can be quite a black market item. Back in the day we used to get a generous markup flying a Bucket of KFC out to the Never Never.

Authorities wanted to implement a smoking ban due to health reasons apparently but it doesn't make much sense since the place is a Remand facility(pre-trial detention ) , not an actual prison so prisoners are in there temporarily and given the nature of smoking, as in not many can just quit lit easily, It really doesn't make sense to enforce a smoking ban!

If your in prison 3 squares and a dry place to sleep is all you deserve.... If you want more DONT go to prison.

apparently it has been in force in other prisons in australia for some time.

hey, my understanding is that all state/federal buildings are non-smoking. those inside need to go outside to be able to smoke. answer is simple - they just have to get outside!
