I know BV is joking, but didn't some kid buy those NCs from a member here a month back along with some San Diego Presidencias?

I'd like a Churchill Culebra, three different blends that you could smoke independently, but smoke all together and be great. Like if I smoked Hoyo/Punch Churchills and PL Magnificos all together.

The only innovation I can imagine is in flavor manipulation without 'flavoring". How many of us have sat down and lit up a cigar to just be treated to the "best" of what a marca has to offer. Then looking forward to the next cigar it just doesn't live up to the previous. What I would love to see is research done to find out what creates the "raw sugar," "cinnamon," "espresso," flavors etc in the tobacco and then real work done to create consistent flavors in certain types of tobacco.

I know it's far cheaper to just soak tobacco in some nasty vanilla flavoring, but I see a lot of potential to create tobacco strains that have a predisposition to taste a certain way. And when properly blended the true "profile" of a certain marca could be dialed up, or down, to create consistent smoking experiences without all of the inconsistency. I am not advocating for a flavored cigar, just cigars that have consistent traditional flavors.

I understand the question, but I'm with Munts - do cigars need innovation? ( I personally don't regard cigars the same way as electronics, etc ) .

As to the U.S. market, I would actually agree that the Cuban cigar industry, as it stands today, will need to up it's game.

But..... in doing so, I have to make an assumption ( which I kind of loathe doing ) - that the vast majority of U.S. cigar smokers have little / no experience with Cuban cigars, and are accustomed to a certain level of consistency regarding construction and flavor.

Keith and many others have experience with cigars from all over the world - many choose to put up with / overlook / have become accustomed to the inconsistencies of Cuban cigars. I love a great cigar regardless of origin, smoking mainly Havanas. But I won't lie, I caught myself just this past weekend asking myself "why can't they get it right?"

PB brought up corked wine, spoiled milk, etc. For me these are not issues of the main product, but ancillary elements and / or external conditions.

Anyway, I don't feel it's a matter of being special as much as exposure / experience.

So I think I can say yes Rob, it has now all been done:

I saw this on another forum and I am 99% certain this is real. We have now jumped the shark.

See this one all the time. There is also this below: All the innovation I see is mainly on packaging and in the NC world. I personally don't give a fug a bout the packaging so the more extravagant the marketing is (colorful, gaudy, tacky, comes with finger traps (so useless imo) the more i find myself turned off from even wanting to try it or learn about it. Show me a nice lacquered/or unfinished cab/box, with beautifully hand rolled cigars not obstructed by stupid bands that go the whole length of the smoke and you've got my attention as a customer to want to find out more, both CC's and NC's. As for the question, Id love to see a SUPER Culebra, using 6 Double Coronas! or a Skinny Torpedo Culebra :)Caldwell-Cigars-Yellow-Cake-053.jpg
