Onelove Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 Sounds like a man and father that is/was larger than life. It's great that the love and respect you feel for him can be expressed so well. Truly heartfelt condolences. 1
Habana Mike Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 My sympathies. Lost my father a couple years back after a couple of years in a home following a severe stroke. Hated to see him go but hated more to see him like that. Hang in, I'm sure your character is as strong as his. 1
earthson Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 For the dead, it is easy - they go on to greener pastures and a brighter sun. For us is the hard work, to carry on without anything but the memory of them. I wish you all the best and hope for a smooth transition for everyone. 1
habanolover Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 My condolences Quint, I pray for you and your family's peace. Having lost my father while still a mere baby, I have often wondered how different my life might be had he been around. Take heart in the fact you were able to grow up and appreciate a great dad my friend, your life and the life of your kids is all the richer for it...
canadianbeaver Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 Sincerest condolences and thinking of you tonight Quint. Phoning my dad right now in fact. L
cigcars Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 Ohhh, Quint God Love you. Keep talking to him while you're there. Supposedly, the hearing is the last thing to go when one is about to cross over. On the last night and last hour of my mom's days here the family decided to celebrate her granddaughter's (who she never let one day pass without being there with her) birthday early in her honor. I was telling Mom that and she could only raise the death rattle in her voice to a higher octave to acknowledge what I was saying. Very heavy on my heart to relive that. And as I'd quoted before to other beloved members of our forum in your same situation: It's said that when you do cross over, all the answers to the all the questions you've ever had are answered in the blink of an eye. The Lord and His angels are preparing your dad's place for him right now. And you're all in a good spot in that you can spend each others' precious moments together. Keep strong. And we'll keep strong along with you
madandana Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 Sorry for what your family's going through but happy for the times you had. Sounds like a great man.
JohnS Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 Oh Quint...I too am sorry for this very hard time for you and your family. It makes me reflect on how thankful I need to be for everyday God gives me, how grateful I need to be for my father and how I need to be committedly kind to my family while we have the time. 1
