cigcars Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 Don Carlos was my favorite NC many years ago. Cameroon was my favorite wrapper. Partagas NC were very good back then too. Until my palate got more educated, the NC Partagas's for the most part seemed sooooo empty and devoid of any nuances or flavor I could detect, despite my best smoking efforts. However, out of all the varying sizes and offers they had (before the Serie S, Black Label, Rosado, etc., etc., etc. that have come out recently) I did find that strangely, the NC Partagas No. 2 seemed to be on par with an actual Habano cigar in flavor. Don't know why that particular one did it, but even other seasoned smokers attested to that fact about the Party No. 2 (NC)
btp1979 Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 I mostly smoke a mix of Nicaraguan puros (Pepin, Oliva V, Padron), but I have found aged La Flor Dominicana's with oscuro wrappers are pretty fantastic too. Granted they are not CC. but still great smokes. Personally I'd be pretty interested in seeing what types of blends may develop with the thawing of international relations.
TomF Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 I smoked a really nice Oliva Series V after lunch today. They are not all bad.
