Ken, I wish I could tell you more but one of the effects was a bit of amnesia. The rum was distributed in vast quantities at the conclusion to a number of speeches and by that time, I had enjoyed copious amounts of Pol Roger and had discovered a bespoke cocktail for the event called the Hurlingham. Here is what H&F had to say about the rum (which I do recall being lovely, rich and reminiscent of cognac, not heavy on the molasses and more of an aged style rather than the rawer Havana Clubs):

"While enjoying the 225 cigar guests will have the chance to try some Havana Club Aniversario 225, a rum that has been blended specifically for Hunters & Frankau by Havana Clubs Master Blender, Asbel Morales. This extremely rare rum will not be produced commercially."post-9032-0-30655900-1434805713_thumb.jp

I'd love to hear thoughts on the special cigar the RA 225 LE. I like the size and rounded head of it. Did anyone smoke it make/take some mental notes on it? Love to hear/read please.

I loved it! It actually made me drool on the inhale. Definitely a Ramone Allones. The flavors are reminiscent of the Gordito. With all the other flavors of the evening, bespoke cocktails, the special rum and endless variety of foods, it was impossible for me to give a better assessment of the cigar. Suffice it to say, I would love to have more opportunities to revisit the cigar.

Cracking cigar, more importantly a wonderful evening! Great to catch up Dr G.

The cigar is terrific, smoking beautifully. Reminded me of the Lebanese RA regional Phoenicio.

We missed you, Ryan. Only complaint - the party was too short. Cigars can be pocketed, but it was hard to do justice to the unique booze that was on offer. Great to see old friends and make a few new ones.

The other cigar handed out was the Bolivar labelled Exclusivo Gran Bretana. I am smoking it right now and enjoying it. It is very young, shows Bolivar genes and has an excellent draw and burn. I approximate the size as about 5 1/2 inches by 54 ring gauge. H&F says it will be a while before it is available retail. Watch for it.

Yes! It (some of it) is coming back to me now. Got it's name because it was introduced in Belgrave Square.
