Usually this tends to result in more consistent cigars throughout. I would repeat that Rob has noted that most 50 cabs are better quality than the same cigars in dress boxes or 25 cabs.

I pull out the wheel by the ribbon and push out the center most cigar from the rest. I know others that prefer the outer most smokes especially if there's a dent caused by the ribbon. Ritualistic behavior at it's best, I suppose. 1

Still get an occasional one though.What is the reason for the cardboard under the knot, and what does it prevent? I've been wondering that for a while now.

rtrimbath Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 To prevent the crimp (indentation) put on the cigar immediately under where the knot is tied in the ribbon. I've yet to experience a draw or burn problem from this dented cigar.Thanks, that had been bugging me.
