Popular Post El Presidente Posted June 7, 2015 Popular Post Posted June 7, 2015 I wasn't well this morning after 2 hours sleep. Sleeping in was not an option (3 hours would have been nice) but there was a massive argument between two Fiats outside my apartment who were trying to park in the same spot. I had to get up and start packing anyway before the final AMICIGAR brunch....so up I go. I hate travelling with dirty laundry so off to the Hotel Launry I went. A couple of machines, looked clean, I had Euro coin, It was all in Italian but it made sense. Put my weeks laundry in the machine, added laundry liquid, 40 minutes for a full cycle....off I went back to the room for some cleaning up. Came back 50 minutes later to see my clothes not washed and with detergent run through most of them. I was seriously peeved and headed to reception to press the buzzer (still haven't seen anyone there all week). Fernando sensed from the other side of the buzzer that he had a problem child and appeared from behind the desk ala Manuel from Faulty Towers. I explained how if something was broken...put a bloody sign on it as "signs" in italy look to come cheap as there are 9 for different things you cannot do in the hotel pool alone (need a bathing cap/need a special towel/closed between 1 and 3/no balls of any kind/no loud music/no running/no diving/no swimming before 9 or after 3 or apparently between 1 and 3 ....pool needs a siesta? Fernando heard me out and said to follow him down to the laundry room to assess the problem. Once in the laundry....he took a look and asked me to explain exactly what I did. "Pretty simple.....clothes in here...detergent liquid on top.....set the Temp to cool....put money in...go away for 40 minutes" He nodded with concern ... He looked at me with some sad eyes as if he knew I had had a hard night. He sighed and said. "Mr Robert.....you put your clothes in the dryer ...other machine much better for cleaning" 17

Guest rob Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 Hahahahhha. I thought the story was going to be that you went to brunch, and got back with the Fiats still arguing for the car park
kuma Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 Same here when traveling. I need to know where washer / dryer are located because I travel light. Haven't had that problem but last year in Menton France came across some not so cheap dryers near our hotel I think just for 15 min it was 3 euros damn French! Rob your story is priceless.
Ken Gargett Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 given you went around cuba popping sleeping pills because you had a cold and thought they were antibiotics, no surprise here. but surely the idiot of the week, idiot of the year, goes to the moron from IS who took a selfie which he posted, not realising the background gave away his position. 40 minutes later, the entire camp wiped out. apparently we have around 110 idiots who have gone across and joined IS. most of them are tracked daily by the government because they still use their telstra account. wow! 2
JohnS Posted June 8, 2015 Posted June 8, 2015 Gotta love the Pres. Definitely...x2 here! (Haha...but seriously, hasn't this story happened to all of us at some point in our lives?)
Fosgate Posted June 8, 2015 Posted June 8, 2015 I'm glad I'm not the only one that does dumb stuff. For my birthday last week we got a couple in us and grilling supper when the idea hit us to try some new ground up Carolina Reaper peppers on top of crab stuffed mushrooms. After all, we regularly have ghost pepper powder on the same things and they are delish. How much worse could it possibly be? 12 hours of sever intestinal issues and two showers later while a roll of barbed wire passed through my system. I thought to myself, "I'm 42 and I'm still doing dumb stuff like I was in high school."
