Notsocleaver Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 Stumbled upon a bottle of A de Fussigny Cigare Blend Cognac collecting dust at a liquor store. I haven't been able to find much info about it online. Has anyone here had some or heard of it? 1
garbandz Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 how much was the price? any Cognac blended for Cigars would get my interest,de Fussigny appears to be an obscure company. Could be marvelous.............
Notsocleaver Posted May 31, 2015 Author Posted May 31, 2015 $90 plus tax. Its the darkest cognac I've ever seen. I thought it was aged rum when I first saw it.
JohnS Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 It's a dedicated blend A. de Fussigny have made to pair well specifically with cigars. Other manufacturers have released similar products; Bisquit's Cohiba Extra, Pierre Ferrand's Cigare Blend Reserve Havana, Gautier's XO Pinar Del Rio Cigar Cognac and Hine's Cigar Reserve Cognac, for example. These cognacs are similar to the XO grade cognacs from the Big Four Houses (due to the fact they have a 90% world-wide market share), Hennessy, Martell, Remy Martin and Courvoisier. I would snap this up personally if I could as it would compliment most light to medium-bodied cigars, in my opinion. 2
Notsocleaver Posted May 31, 2015 Author Posted May 31, 2015 Thanks! Grabbed for the uniqueness factor alone. I've never even heard of any of those cigar blended cognacs before, just Dalmore's cigar malt scotch. The guy running the store said it had been there longer than he had. Discontinued apparently.
