maxcjs0101 Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 I've tried a few Nikkas (Pure Malt, From the Barrel etc) and i dont really like them as i think they're lacking the richness compared to many Highland whiskies. And they're quite pricey too.
busdriver Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 Michters Rye Michters bourbon. Sweet but I prefer that with cigars Elijah Craig 12 yr is excellent and reasonably priced. Barrel aged Manhattans from high west are delicious. Love nonPeaty scothes but bourbon is a lot more affordable for a great product. Where I live anyways.
westg Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 Top shot. Quite obviously, you're a Cadenhead-head. I am an avid Islay man also. In fact, I named my second daughter Isla. But, I am still on my journey. Currently I am deeply in love with Tasmanian. And forever forced to love Irish whiskey. Yeah... me to with the Irish gotta love em 1
JohnS Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 They should really start selling that stuff in 1.75l bottles - I go through those little 500ml thingies far too quickly I know what you mean...very smooth!
Habana Mike Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 Benromach 10 is the juice of squeezed gods. Not so sure I'd be down for squeezed god juice but may have to give this one a go if you say so......
Rye Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 Too many to list, but I lean towards the bogs. In my glass ATM is the peated Arran malt, the Machrie Moor from 2013, but within arms reach is a tail end of a bottle of Macallan 18, and a bottle of Crown Royal Monarch, as strange as it seems. I like whisky, and on occasion, even a whiskey! 1
Jeremy Festa Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 Yeah... me to with the Irish gotta love em Good man Sent from my iPhone
NJP Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 A Highlander as my my number one, a Tasmanian as my on the side and always flirting with Japanese. 1
Guest rob Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 I've got a fancy for all whisky. Never in excess, I nurse and savour every drop of my whisky.
leftimatic Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 I feel a bit like a cretin but I am enjoying and have been for a few bottles now a blended scotch called Pigs Nose. And my life long go to since highschool is Tullamore Dew. Not to fancy but I like them. My buddy is trying to convert me to bourbon and a few pictured and mentioned are on the list of must gets. Might have to take a run to the liquor store.
BeetsMcGee Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 Woodford. Elijah Craig 12 is excellent for the price. Also, Elmer T Lee if you can find it. Haven't seen it in a while, so that could be limited production or discontinued. All Bourbon for me, I guess I may have to venture into the scotch world, and I would definitely be down for some Japanese whiskey. Just need to find it/remember to be on the lookout.
Duxnutz Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 Love Rye Whiskey but big bourbon drinker too. Can recommend Sazerac Rye, Knob Creek and anything by High West. Pick up some 4 Roses stuff (small batch, single barrel, barrel proof versions) it's great stuff!!! 1
Zaphod42 Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 I've never been a big whiskey fan, but Pappy would be my preference.
daeji5 Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 My, hands down, favorite bourbon is black maple hill 16yr. Damn shame. I should have stocked up. the new stuff just isn't the same.
reliefdvm Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 My 2 favorites right now are both small distilleries. Stranahans from Denver and Balcones Single malt from Waco Texas.
Duxnutz Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 I've never been a big whiskey fan, but Pappy would be my preference. Yeah you and the free world. I'm pissed at all the limited availability and blowing up of the demand so won't be buying anymore anytime soon (if I could find the stuff). Reg production for me,
