Stevieboy Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 Not a horrific price for such a huge cigar. Can't help but feel that a lot of the ££ is in the packaging. Still, cheaper and much better looking than the incredibly plain RA 225 they we Brits are getting soon 2
Fuzz Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 Well done mate! Touch base with me via e-mail and I will arrange to get that Bushido out to you. Auusies check who was closest on the Aussie price for me. Winner touch base Munts is the Aussie winner with his guess of $1617. 1
MIKA27 Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 I'd love a box but seeing those prices, I think i'd love some singles for sure 2
JohnS Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 Do we email Di to be on the waiting list? Like these special releases in the past, I'd say El Pres will probably first put them up on a 24:24 with sampler options available, similar to the Cohiba Robusto Supremo EL 2014, and it will be a case of 'first in, best dressed'! It all depends how many boxes he is (initially) allocated. 1

Hiroshiro Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 Do we email Di to be on the waiting list? There was an Email that went out a long time ago that if you wanted to be on the Waiting list you had to Email D. Not sure how long that list is now
muzz Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 I just picked up a few of these and can't wait to try them
Cornell Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 The Diplonatico Bushido was created by PCC to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the first Japanese citizen to visit Cuba. During the Keicho mission, samurai Hasekura Tsunenaga stopped in Cuba (then part of New Spain) on his way to the Vatican in Rome. Curious, why is it an Asia Pacific RE cigar and not Japan?
El Presidente Posted May 21, 2015 Author Posted May 21, 2015 Curious, why is it an Asia Pacific RE cigar and not Japan? It is a Regional Release and Japan falls under the Asia Pacific "Region" (PCC Control)
oliverdst Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 Not quite sure where you’re coming from here. Insider was correct. They list Bushidos at 338 Hong Kong dollars each. That converts to $43.60 or $1,090 per box…and they get their prices directly from Pacific Cigar. Insider always lists MSRP, as that’s what they say is given to them…MSRP for Hong Kong. If Prez can get it to us cheaper than their local MSRP, all the better. You are right, that price is HK. Cigar Insider, always a trustfull source to cigar lovers...
rmill3r Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 I'm a little out of the loop...has there been any word about Diplomaticos bringing back other vitolas? I love my box of No. 2s, but I would love to try the marca with a smaller rg.

Diplomáticos used to make 38 ring gauge cigars (No.6...192 mm and No.7...152 mm) which would be popular amongst members here if released again.

Laxman Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 If anyone knows a place to pick these up that ships to the states please PM me as I would love to grab a few boxes.
Homebrew Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 If anyone knows a place to pick these up that ships to the states please PM me as I would love to grab a few boxes. FOH, as in right here. Dave (A.K.A. Homebrew) 1
BonVivant Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 Try Diplomaticos no.2, before splurging on paper? 1
Fuzz Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 Considering the interest in this release and the low volume currently available, I'd PM Rob, not the other way round. He won't be lacking interested buyers. 1
Drguano Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 I have been fortunate to have smoked both the Bushido and the H&F RA225 and enjoyed them both immensely. It is amazing to learn that the Bushido is actually cheaper than the RA at $700 a box versus $1062 (£675). There was a per-release price of $903 (£573) that was still more than the current Bushido price. If you can afford them, get both!

Olga Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 It is a Regional Release and Japan falls under the Asia Pacific "Region" (PCC Control) Doesn't China? Yet they had 2 dedicated regionals.
