I grabbed 3 boxes of BPC, OGA ABR 12, at a serious discount in 9/12. I knew they were young very fresh and left them alone until about a year ago. First impressions were of a pasty light wrapper that covered a hard, tight, bitter stick. The tough draw and over all bad impression of the cigars led me to trade and sell most of them away. What a mistake. The light colored PCs I couldn't get rid of are the bomb. Rich, creamy plumes of smoke from a little cigar that, due to it's great construction, lasts an hour. Nothing about these cigars said they were a good bet to blossom in three years but man, did they ever. I can't keep my hands off of them. Any one else have a similar story to tell?

I love BPC but I've never traded them away. Incredibly good, and like you said they last an hour plus easily. Mine have pretty much all smoked well fairly young, although I haven't tried many with less than 12 months on them

I have a box of Monte No.4's with very pale wrappers that was pretty pathetic in the first year or so. They kept getting pushed to the back of the cooler. After about 3+ years, a BOTL wanted to try one so I figured I should at least try one myself before sending him one, so at least I could warn him how bad they were. What a surprise! Damn, they were tasty. Nothing at all like the way they were.

I'm glad I didn't get rid of them.

That was a box I didn't intentionally set aside to age, but it was a valuable lesson about smoking what's good now and revisiting the lesser cigars on occasion to see how they're doing. They may just come around... or not.

Bolivar PC is a regular smoke of mine. I smoke at least 2-3 a week. But I prefer the 50 count cabs, over the dress box. It is a shame that they were discontinued. I am currently working through a cab from 07, and they are smoking great. I am down to 8 cabs, as I loaded up on them when I heard that they were being discontinued. I am also doing an experiment, taking the cigars from 2 dress boxes, and aging them in a previously emptied cab.
