MIKA27
Legends Of Tomorrow: DC Comics And The CW Have A Superhero Team TV Show https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4MubNoWQiSc It’s new-show week in the US, and superheroes are very on trend. After the first-look at CBS’ Supergirl barnstormed onto the internet, we have another DC Comics’ series from The CW. It’s called Legends Of Tomorrow and features a billionaire with loads of tech, a guy with a bow and arrow, a lady assassin, a guy who changes form into a dangerous version of a hero and a pair of criminals turned good. Sound like every Marvel trope from the last two blockbusters crammed into one TV show to anyone else? Legends Of Tomorrow sees the Green Arrow team up with The Flash to lead a new team of superheroes fighting for their city. The team consists of White Canary (the resurrected Black Canary we saw on Arrow); Hawkgirl; Captain Cold and Heatwave; the Atom and Firestorm. It certainly feels like a bad Avengers and Guardians Of The Galaxy spin-off set in the DC Universe, but given that superhero teams are so hot right now, this series is probably going to be a winner. Fosgate
I heard someone spouting off how Marvel is in trouble because of this series and how they need to step up on Agents of Shield. Thing is that Marvel is meant for Movies and DC is meant for TV. While Man of Steel has been DC's best attempt yet at launching a potential franchise since Spiderman (Batman Excluded). They repeatedly miss the mark as they keep relaunching the same characters over and over and over hoping it pays off. They got it right with the Dark Knight and Christian bale. Then they had a decent relaunch of Superman. Now they try to tie them together with what a VS. match-up and they couldn't even keep Bale in it for this one thus cutting it's success to the Dark Knight trilogy to maybe half or less I suspect. My question is why would they not somehow introduce several other characters (The Justice League) and villains (Legion of Doom) first? It's like they use the success of a couple batman movies to pay the bills on the poor executions of others instead of making each movie their execution to the future success of the next bigger movie like Marvel has learned. Instead they are building a TV fan base of CW fans in a limited exposure feeding off Marvels scraps while DC execs thrash their movie franchise.
