Agreed Ken, it’s a waste. The first synthetic corks I saw was a trip to Queensland in ‘96? Then all those screwtops! Forward thinking imo. I had a lot of Two Hands back then. I couldn’t afford the top OZ wines at the time but the Shiraz was monster I liked. its always bothered me, in particular those crappy corks on the Italian wines. I’m always checking my aging bottles of Brunello and Barolo for bleed through. I’ve had good luck with so far with the corking beast. Damn if i I drank all my ‘97s. That year had legs. Cheers

Cheers those synthetics were horrendous at the time (i'm still no fan) but we have seen the comparison between corks and screwcaps so many times to have completely removed doubt. any winery not using them does so for marketing reasons - which will hopefully change though in some countries, it will be a very hard slog. there was a batch of wines put under screwcap in the late 70s. when one compares those to wines under cork from the same era, the difference is so massive that it is impossible to defend corks. of course, even if the world swapped today, there are still many many bottles in all our cellars still under cork with all the potential problems to come. fully agree re 97. cracking year. i pulled out a 1997 Pertimali recently - that Brunello lunch - and it was up against another Pertimali, their Riserva 2010. and yet the 97 showed much more colour - amazing purples - and more. the 10, a higher ranked wine as Riserva, was good but the 97 was spectacular. 1
RicoIsHere Posted July 13, 2019 Posted July 13, 2019 Had a micallef paired with Blade and Bow bourbon. B&B is better than Blanton's. 3
alloy Posted July 13, 2019 Posted July 13, 2019 Little bit of MM and Diet Coke. However, just picked up this nice bottle of Willett. 3

Popular Post lovethehaze Posted July 15, 2019 Popular Post Posted July 15, 2019 Hop butcher “Green Moss “ canned 7/8/19. USA women’s champs again !This is absolutely the best beer in production anywhere, obviously in my opinion. Literally went and got 7 four packs with a 1 four pack limit. Lots of work.... but well worth it. Brewed maybe once every 6-8 months. Sweet stone fruit, juicy perfectly ripe cantaloupe (says fresh citrus but that’s what I Taste ) and dank hops low ibu’s doesn’t say what the number is but it’s all smooth perfectly balanced beer. Have to try one to believe it. I can’t possibly do justice to what this juice is. Straight haze bomb !!! out of Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 5

Astar20 Posted July 15, 2019 Posted July 15, 2019 Woodford reserve double oaked with a couple drops of peach seltzer water pretty tasty. 4
RicoIsHere Posted July 16, 2019 Posted July 16, 2019 No pairing tonight, but this Hennessy Master Blend was the perfect finish tonight. 4

As much as I hate that, now that my son is growing so fast before my eyes, I really am living more and more for the present and enjoying each moment. So, some EH Taylor this evening. Drink it if you got it! Why keep it on the shelf? Exactly! Enjoy it while you're able to. EH Taylor is pretty good, cant go wrong 2

My son is only a year ahead of yours, so I will be doing the eye rolling with you in the future... Best thing we have done with our lives is right now and the years to come in supporting and encouraging our sons to do well/right. Nothing could possibly compare. God Bless. 2 1

Popular Post SirVantes Posted July 17, 2019 Popular Post Posted July 17, 2019 Bladnoch, the zombie lowland malt (distillery keeps dying and reviving). Lowlanders don’t get a lot of love, but I’d happily drink (the now closed) Littlemill and good indie Bladnochs until they disappear for good. In fact, I’d take a good Bladnoch over a Rosebank. Don’t shoot! 5

Popular Post Nick.Skayuna Posted July 19, 2019 Popular Post Posted July 19, 2019 Just enjoyed a nice curiosity seventy two and now breaking into a super treat both from treehouse brewery. Both phenomenal beers so far. Looking forward to what’s next Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 5
Popular Post CampDelta369 Posted July 21, 2019 Popular Post Posted July 21, 2019 Horse Soldier Bourbon. American Freedom Distillery. Enough said. I will purchase goods and services all day from our veteran owned companies so I am a bit biased. With that said this is damn good Bourbon. I like the mash bill on this barrel strength release. Crappy picture but was trying to get some light through that gorgeous charred finish. Cheers story here https://www.americanfreedomdistillery.com/horse-soldier 5
lovethehaze Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 Tasting good today Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 4
CampDelta369 Posted July 28, 2019 Posted July 28, 2019 Solid Whiskey from Seattle. This First Cut is single barrel at barrel strength. Water or ice required. I think this mash bill is 100% Barley Malt? Delicious. 3
CampDelta369 Posted July 28, 2019 Posted July 28, 2019 Keeping the thread alive! Solid Chianti with a fantastic Sangiovese nose exploding from glass. I think that’s why JS likes this one. Can’t disagree. 4
