Opened my new acquisition from Taipei duty-free - it was under $30 for the bottle!

Best cask strength available for the price, now that Macallan CS has been discontinued

The 105 is very good, but I must say I much prefer the Springbank, Tamdhu, Glendronach and Aberlour Cask Strength bottles over the Farclas.

Will give the Tamdhu a try, Have a bottle of the Glendronach CS but have not opened it yet. I do like the Aberlour A’bunadh

Sexton right now, wanted to try something Irish and the bottle looked nice. Usually I prefer smokey but there's a unique quality about this whiskey that is interesting. The whiskey itself is just okay.

The burn on the whiskey is.. backwards. It starts incredibly smooth and the burn grows rather than whiskey that burns first and then you get the flavors. Its a bit sweet for my liking but palatable enough I'm not about to waste it.

If anyone knows about a cheap and smoke whiskey ~20-30ish a bottle lemme know.

A special whiskey last night, only pull this one out every now and again. Only released once per year.

Did not know about their CS, will be on the lookout for a bottle.

Picked this up today, couldn't wait and opened it up. Just a caramel and oak bomb, fantatic! It is so well done, so glad this is going to be a part of their regular line up. Many thanks @Çnote for helping me with this one!

Looks right up my alley, will hunt for a bottle, thank you

I didn’t take any pictures, but last night’s bourbon was Woodford Double Oaked. I paired it with a RASS and experienced a solid hour of Nirvana (the state of mind, not the band).

How was the 06 Art Series Chardy Ken? Be interested to know if it stayed as complex and delicate as when young. Tried the 2010 at the winery over lunch in that year and really enjoyed it. Although my fav was Pierro Chardy.

bill, really good. still fresh. loved it.

i'm told that the 16, when released, will be as good as anything they have ever done.

Some second growth to try

not to be picky but they are not second growth. rather the second wine of leoville las cases, which is a second growth (well, i assume second wine, depending on how they want to categorise clos du marquis).

So, Second wine of second growth? No wonder I got them for a steal! Thank you for the info- need to do a better job of learning before buying.

Yes, they are 2015. Did read about 2015 being a great year for the Bordeaux region and good to know about the Winery- Thanks again.

Have been getting some 2013 Napa valley wines as well as I heard that was a great year there.

i believe that 13 is exceptional for the Napa but there'll be plenty of guys from over there who will be able to give you better info than i can.

I picked up about a case of this from Costco.  I think they were $32 each.  Tried one; pretty great stuff but will wait a while on the next.

For real?  $73???  I wouldn't have bought any if it were $50 lol...  MA has some of the lowest prices on liquor in world.  My Costco is tied with Scottsdale, AZ as the largest liquor selling Costco yet is only like 10% the size of the AZ's liquor section.
