This bottle will be deeply missed once emptied.

This was really good

Only 2 years aged in the Texas sun?  You have to try it to believe it.

Some 2001 Highbank Coonawarra Basket Pressed Reserve Cabernets.

Love the Aussie wine, still the best as far as paring with a cigar goes - the moreish profile completes any smoke.

Tried the newly released Glenmorangie Private Edition Bacalta.

Love the perfumed nose: sweet, winey, vanilla.

Unfortunately the palate is a little bit of a let down and nothing very much special compared to their standard 'the Original' at half the price. The only difference is that this has a hint of sweet wine note on the finish with a little more spice to the profile.

Not bad, just feel that it's priced a little much for what it offers.

Midleton Single Cask.  A good flagbearer for Irish single pot still whiskey, and a hit with my non-whisk(e)y drinking friends for its lack of aggression (until the 59.5% abv hits them).

Arturo Fuente Don Carlos Robusto with some red wine - a rather inexpensive bottle that was gifted to me: 2014 Rouge Homme Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon.

Not a bad quaffing wine. Quite light in body, medium at best. Not complex at all.

The cigar on the other hand is superb.

Arturo Fuente Hemingway Work of Art Maduro from 2010.

Unseasonal hot weather demands for some chilled rose to go with the stick.

Like it's namesake, this smoke is a work of art!

Having a couple of fellow peatheads over for an Ardbeg night. Should be fun.

The Springbank is excellent.

I agree, that Springbank is really nice. I'm glad I bought a few.

Continuing the Arturo Fuente trend with a well aged Arturo Fuente Anejo No. 50.

Having some 2001 Highbank Coonawarra Reserve Cabernets with this.

Assuredly, Arturo Fuente does deserve its reputation of being an internationally acclaimed premier cigar producer.

It's not Ardbeg Day yet.

For Ardbeg Committee members, it was actually a couple of days early for the Committee release...

...but of course there was never a hope in hell. Worse than 24:24!

If you like good Dolcetto, this is one - still quite a bit of grip, but certainly drinkable.....

Oddero is a good producer and Dolcetto's are well priced all considered.  Good for up to a decade cellaring.

I like their wines, but I admit to having mixed feelings style-wise - I sometimes think them slightly over-oaked.

As for dolcetto, I'm a long time fan, and sometimes think them underrated - but that I don't mind  :)

If Barolo, you can sit it out and wait I suppose?  I like Giacosa better than Oddero and I don't think their Dolcetto is that far apart in price?
