I recommend you try the ***** from the barrel. At 40ish euros for 0.5l not a bargain but very tasty. Problem is to find it in US Yes, agreed. One of my 'go-to' whiskies...love it! 1

sengjc Posted September 24, 2016 Posted September 24, 2016 How is the Nika, worth the coin? I want to start getting into Japanese whisky but I don't know where to start. Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkIt depends - original RRP, yes. Gouged up RRP, no.What others have commented, recommend the ***** Whisky from the Barrel as a decent and relatively well priced Japanese whisky to start off. 1
LLC Posted September 24, 2016 Posted September 24, 2016 Cracked it open and giving it a try with an RA 898 Alemania.
jcorona Posted September 29, 2016 Posted September 29, 2016 Elijah craig 12 with a perdomo lot 23 maduro, very nice. This bourbon took 7 months to come around and open up. I get intense butterscotch, spice, honey, brown sugar, dried fruits. Very rich with a medium long finish. 1
sastrooper Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 Its only once a year, so might as well go hard, that 96 las case mumma mia! Sooo good and the Astralis, still a baby but ohh what a powerhouse of a wine. Life is good

Colt45 Posted October 14, 2016 Posted October 14, 2016 Cascina Roera San Martino Barbera D'Asti Superiore 2005: Love this producer - smoothness of age, but retains underlying brightness and fruit of the varietal and region. Slightly prunish which I enjoy. Perhaps on the verge of being past it, but great for me
sengjc Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 Was out and about with Matt today for a catch-up and some whisky.
JohnS Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 Recently I've enjoyed some 1990 Highland Park Scotch (thank you to you, Alex) Going through some Four Pillars Bloody Shiraz Gin, and sharing it with valued cigar friends, has been very satisfying! Macallan 12 Fine Oak Single Malt Whisky The Sazerac Cocktail (with Cognac, the traditional spirit). I never tire of this classic drink! Finally, a Negroni (or two) with some unique Four Pillars Spice Negroni Gin! 3
BrightonCorgi Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 A pair of '05 Musar's; one of my favorite wines.
