This was really good

Elijah craig 12. What a nice nose this has - brown sugar, caramel, fruit, spice and oak. Same for flavors.

Some 2008 Journeys End Ascent Shiraz.

A good pairing - a nicely mellow and rich red with a "mellowed with age" medium bodied and rich smoke.

This was a good one! Reminded me of the HC Seleccion De Maestros but more smooth.

Going to be a kilchoman night.  Sainig is in the class now (new release this year and utterly delicious).  Cask Strength is next up.

My Lady and I were out for a fancy Birthday dinner at The French Cafe this evening.

Serendipitously I found one of the last bottles in existence of my first true Love of Red Wine.

...hidden deep within their wine cellar lay an Antipodean 1994 Merlot/Malbec/Cabernet Sauvignon.

Such a rare and expensive bottle they said they had never actually sold one in the restaurant so I thought I'd treat myself and also hooked up the Sommelier.

...Angela and I used to drink them by the case when I swapped sacks of Crayfish for them with the Winemaker back in the day.

5 year old Glenburgie from the mid sixties.

Very good, you wouldn't pick it as a young old Speyside.
