sastrooper Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 Couple bottles to celebrate my bday 2nite. If only it was my bday everyday hahah 4
sengjc Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Earlier today while out and about town with Matt and a Scott who's visiting from Perth, we popped into Whisky & Alement, the whisky bar that I frequent for the last few drinks of the day. Went through this among the Port Charlotte Jurancon Cask by indie bottlers Rest & Be Thankful and the SMWS 119.14. Amazing depth the SMWS G12.1 - essence of vanilla and banana with icing sugar overlaid. Amazing length to the finish. 1
Guest rob Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Did you prefer the G12.1, or the 119.14 more?
sengjc Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Did you prefer the G12.1, or the 119.14 more? The 119.14 and 120.7 are hard to beat.
Guest rob Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 A cold day here today, after a scorcher yesterday - so to warm up had a Peroni Red before dinner, followed by a Benromach 10, and then a Bunna 12.
sengjc Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 Just had to give the new glasses a go Nice - what glass is that and where can I get some?
sengjc Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 Glencadam 14 Year Old Oloroso Sherry Cask Finish. A pleasant and clean malt that is moderately spicy and oaky. Fresh sweet nose with a finish that has good length. A good all-rounder as an everyday malt. 1
dangolf18 Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 Boss Hog...top notch stuff! Only wish I had a stogie to pair with it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1

sengjc Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 Tatuaje Cojonu 2003. Planning on pairing this with some Old Weller Antique 107 but it's such a fine smoke with rich chocolate, leather and sweet roasted nuts, I think I'll hold off the drink for the moment. This is a marvellous smoke.
dangolf18 Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 Is that the Whistlepig Boss Hog? Yes it is. Grossly expensive but good stuff. Tasted the Old World side by side and enjoyed that more actually. I like the Sauternes finish and it's much much smoother. If only bottles were half the going rate.
JohnS Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 I had some George Dickel No. 12 & Coke this week. Simple, but so good! 1
sengjc Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 Paid a visit to the local distillery to pick-up a couple of bottles of limited release bottlings and enjoyed some more lovely limited release Melbourne brews. Also an "experimental" that is yet to be released - taken straight from the cask. Pure PX-Cask goodness, a full blown dessert with every sip. Excellent hospitality and simple charm. 2

sengjc Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Just lit a Padron 1964 Anniversary Imperial Maduro to go with some Little Creatures Return of the Dread seasonal stout. Goes well together. 1
dangolf18 Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 Hand-selected ER10 single barrel. Freakin' fantastic stuff. Down to my last two bottles. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 3
Upgrayedd Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 Having a dark and stormy with some Fentiman's gingerbeer and Appleton Estate. Yum.
sengjc Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 The last of the Glencadam 14 Year Old Sherry Cask. Happy weekend to all. 1
sengjc Posted October 18, 2015 Posted October 18, 2015 After a long day of slog with the garden planting tomatoes, cucumbers, chilli and eggplant, I am settling down after dinner to a Tierra Volcan Fino courtesy of Matt @Tan18_01 and some Redbreast 12 Year Old Irish whiskey. Quite enjoyable despite the nasal spice. Certainly a well balanced profile that has that Nicaraguan twang of zest and cedar. Thanks for this Matt, really enjoying this one.
LLC Posted October 18, 2015 Posted October 18, 2015 With dinner, absolutely great. Glad I have a few more bottles. 1
