TM-US Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 No photo: 1946 Macallan, 52 yrs old. Truly an exceptional malt. I'm not saying that because of the cost or the rarity. There is a touch of peat! When have you ever tasted a Macallan with peat? Just a touch of peat, less than Talisker, but noticeable when it sits on your tongue. Very nicely sherried, and a fine whisky, well-balanced and very tasty. It does not have that faint flavor and delicacy that many old single malts exhibit, nor is it oaky at all. I'm very happy to have had the opportunity to taste this exceptional malt. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk 2

I like it as it is very much in the sweeter range of whisky's, so if you like your whiskys on the sweeter side, you will enjoy this. 1

ralphie48 Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Just opened first bottle of kavalan vinho barrique . Great with a drop or two of water. About to enjoy it with a RASS 4
Popular Post ralphie48 Posted August 4, 2015 Popular Post Posted August 4, 2015 Didn't want to put much of a dent in the vinho barrique as I had a hard enough time aquiring that bottle let alone another so moved on to the Balvenie 21 portwood. One of my favorite drams and have a huge supply on hand 5
planetary Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 That Balvenie 21 portwood is among my top 3 scotches. Always have a bottle on hand.
dangolf18 Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 2010 Il Palazzone BdM...great young brunello but needs 10+ years of aging. Following that, I'm having a Makers 46 with a Montecristo Edmundo. What a great night!
Lotusguy Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 More Longrow peated in my new Riedel Single Malt glass - this bottle won't last long... 1
sengjc Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 James E. Pepper 1776 Straight Rye Whiskey with a little Nicaraguan stogie. 1
