This bottle will be deeply missed once emptied.

This was really good

Lucky enough to be enjoying a simply magnificent 1971 Coutet tonight. Everything one could wish for in a mature Sauternes. Cheers! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Open this on Thursday. Had a couple of glasses. Intense and full bodied like most GC ports. 1980 is an under the radar vintage with a lot of value. Overshadowed by '83 and '85 but should not be overlooked.

Hoping to get into it more tonight (Saturday).

always liked taylors 80.

great stuff. visited the estate just over a year again and did a fabulous tasting with the family. they might be marchesi's etc but they could not be nicer or more down to earth. and such brilliant wines.

Wife and I are enjoying are usual Champagne on ice in celebration of our wedding anniversary.

Congrats on the mitzvah of your wedding anniversary.

There is something special about Champagne into a snow mound. It's fun to leave Champagne sitting outside to cool down!

What did you think of this one?  I have a bottle I haven't opened yet, kind of saving it. How does it compare to other Redbreast offerings?

Really enjoy it. Mind you, I may be slightly biased as I am a big fan of Port. The nose is formidable. Red fruits, orange zest, oak and subtle nuttiness. Creamy mouthfeel which is also really nice. Would be quite exceptional if the finish was a little longer.

The Port casks influence does not take away from the actual Whiskey. Well integrated. As a fan of their Iberian Series, I am glad that I went three bottles deep on this release.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the review and comments.  I don't plan on opening my bottle anytime soon, but I may try to pick up another one based on your comments.

This takes me back. ‘98 Aus was my first  great vintage in my wine journey.

98 was a cracking vintage in most of south aussie. 99 was another but it fell in the shadow of 98. parker made some top wines. don't see them that much these days.

While I’m a Barolo devotee, I am open to exploring other Nebbiolos. Just like FOHers exploring NCs - and for similar reasons…the prices of our favourites are becoming painful!
