Popular Post CampDelta369 Posted July 30, 2020 Popular Post Posted July 30, 2020 Wookey Jack clone. Firestone killed this Superb Black Rye IPA years ago. A Greek tragedy of sorts. This is a serious BRIPA. 5
CountingStogies Posted July 30, 2020 Posted July 30, 2020 (The Wookey Jack) That is a fantastic beer!!! I have no idea why it was axed, makes no sense. How was the comparison? Did you brew it yourself? 1

How was the comparison? Did you brew it yourself? Agree completely. I don't drink a lot of beer but WJ was a favorite. This is Not as malty sweet as original with pine and citrus hops dominating. Clean crisp finish. The hops linger on forever. Also ABV at 5.6% so not as heavy. And no I am not brewing myself although I am fascinated by the process. 2 1

Popular Post CampDelta369 Posted August 1, 2020 Popular Post Posted August 1, 2020 Les Brouillards Volnay! Actually a very nice bottle of de Bourgogne. 5 years ago it was all Bordeaux and Brunellos. Lately I've been chasing the Pinot Noir unicorn. Go figure. Cheers note: the second day this bottle was just outstanding. Cherries, earth, game meats, herbs. It really opened up in the glass. Wow ? 5

Popular Post Bill Hayes Posted August 3, 2020 Popular Post Posted August 3, 2020 Here in Victoria we are suffering a second wave of Covid so we are in full lockdown. Not much to do but have a drink or two. Luckily the AFL season has been condensed somewhat so we are in the second week of 20 days straight of games. Last night enjoyed some cab sav and found a bottle of Tawny Port. Usually not a big fan of Tawny but this one was superb with a peppery finish and not sickly sweet. 6

Are those both Australian tawny port? Or is the Taylors' a dry wine? Never seen a Taylor Fladgate port like that and I doubt it's Taylor California crap.

Popular Post Mr.T Posted August 5, 2020 Popular Post Posted August 5, 2020 Whisky Sour, one of my favorite cocktails for the summer and a nice 2017 red from the Southern Rhône region. I’m enjoying the discovery of new wines from this region. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 5

The ones I have tried tend to be overly sweet or flabby for my taste, but I've only had a handful of them.
