bresdogsr Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 Elijah Craig 12yr very smooth for 47% ABV. Starting to become a new favorite.
meatball41 Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 nothing fancy today, makers mark for college football tonight!
maverickdrinker Posted October 5, 2013 Author Posted October 5, 2013 Blanton's single barrel last night and some eagle's rare 10 tonight....
bresdogsr Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 Blantons as well. Seems I am on a bourbon kick recently.
marty922 Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 Maker's 46. Don't know what to make of it yet.
meatball41 Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 Maker's 46. Don't know what to make of it yet. me too, I've had a few bottles of 46, I keep going back to the original Makers Mark though. Something about the 46 seems a little rough around the edges to me, I like the idea of the extra oak aging but it overpowers some of the other flavors in my opinion. A lot of people like it though, really can't go wrong with any premium or small batch Kentucky bourbon. some of the folks above were talking about Blantons, it's really good. Costs a bit more than MM but worth it, its my other "go to" bourbon.
CanuckSARTech Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 Last night, in mini-celebration, enjoyed "some" cans of Coor Banquet beer. Available back in Nova Scotia again for a limited run (not sure if it's Canada-wide or not). But it's the actual Golden, CO-brewed version....and it's DELICIOUSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!
canadianbeaver Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 Came in the door last night from a generous friend for my birthday. I have seen the bottle in the store and admired it but never owned it. This scotch is very unique. I liken it to what a CoMaduro is to a reg Co... Deeper and different. Exceptional.
Habana Mike Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 Had the chance to enjoy both a dram of the Balvenie Tun 1401 and Ardbeg Galileo this evening at Jeff B's downtown Corona CIgar in Orlando, quite the selection of single malts there! Fired up an RA Superiores and started with the Balvenie, sweet, smooth, honied and an incredible finish. Halfway through moved to the Ardbeg, peaty, iodine, salt - pretty much sea spray in the face. Both excellent whiskies but two different beasts entirely!
LLC Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 Before and with dinner Time has treated this well. It was outstanding! After dinner
LGC Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 Highland Park 12... nothing fancy, just a dependable.
canadianbeaver Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 Sorry, no photos, but after dinner last night served 3 aperitifs. Lemoncello (sp), a fennel liqueur and a bay leaf liqueur. The second two were great but the fennel was my favorite.
bresdogsr Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 Some Chivas 12 year over a rock. Nice change of pace.
sengjc Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 Bowmore 11 YO bottled by Hart Brothers acquired from Dan Murphy's. Not a bad drop after a few weeks opened and with the initial sulphur-like aroma dissipated. I was disappointed at first but am now pleasantly surprised, didn't expect the sulphur nose to dissipate. Maybe it was cork taint?? Anyway, paired it with a non-Cuban churchill.
sengjc Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 At my mate's place for dinner and drinks. Having this at the moment: Interesting and unique.
sengjc Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 The final line-up for the night: My palate is numb.
sengjc Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 ***** Whisky from the Barrel with the smoke. Lovely mild evening with a gentle breeze, perfect cigar weather.
