Siglo VI - BTO, DIC 2012 a couple of questions.

Recommended Posts

Hello Everyone!

I just broke the bank on a box of Cohiba Siglo VI's, box code BTO December 2012 . Just wanted to know if anyone has any experience with this particular factory code what should i expect? I was wondering if it is indeed as per popular opinion a box from the El Laguito Factory.

In terms of when to smoke them do u reckon they are ready for ignition or would they do better being put away for a while (if so how long do u think is a good time to set them away for).

Went into the walk in humidor to pick up a budget box of SLR regios's and ended up walking out with this expensive box of cohibas because of the box code. hope its worth the $$$.

Cheers

It's a good purchase in normal times. In times like these, when there is a current shortage of Cohiba stock (at the time of writing this post), it's a decision you won't regret! wink.png

I very much enjoyed my BTO 2012's. Can't say if they get better with age as none lived past 2014. :cigar: Call me impatient, but they did smoke fiiiiiiiiiiine!

The siglo VI have been fantastic in recent years, and that box, already with a couple years and from EL factory, should not disappoint.

Smoke one, and slowly make your way through the box over the next couple/few years and enjoy the time deliciously spent!

Nice grab!

keep them safe for three more years and you will really have something fine..........

At two years old you will probably be disappointed.......

FWIW I agree with garbandz. My experience has been that most Cohibas take time and smoking them too soon is a waste. There may be others who have had good luck with young Cohibas, and I'm not disagreeing with them, but I have not had any such luck. I'd start to sample at 5 years and 6 to 12 months after then.

Thanks for the feedback gents! I couldn't help myself and indulged in one it was mind blowing. Delicious, complex, perfect draw and burn, truly a work of art.I am going to have to lock them up in a humidor and throw away the key to keep myself from going through them like a raging bull! Highly recommend picking up a box if you ever get the chance.
