Wooden matches for me. It's a habit formed from years of pipe smoking, where matches are your sole option, barring an old Nimrod lighter or some such contraption. Plus, I like the ritual. The whiff of brimstone reminds me of a campfire.

For the house I have a Alec Bradley "The Burner", it looks like a mini tea kettle. It has a bunsen burner type flame, kind of a soft jet and it holds a ton of fuel. For on the road I have a cheap Jet double flame. I really like both.
