Hunter1974 Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 Ok I know at least for me anyway the cuban cigar is king . How does Cuban Rum stack up against others ? Is there as big a difference between Cuban rum and others like cigars or is rum just rum ? Thanks Guys and Gals 1

kuma Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 I like "Grande Reserve" which is Plantation Rum Barbados aged 5 years. It is not the most expensive rum on the market but over ice it is very smooth. There are better rums for mixing say a "rum and coke" but this is best left alone with some ice and a good CigarCzar smoke! 2
JohnS Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 Ron Zacapa rum, which many here laud and esteem, is made in Guatemala. So, unlike Cuban cigars, which incidentally is made from tobacco grown on mainly the west side of the isalnd of Cuba, Cuban rum isn't as distinctive as other rums. 1

Thanks Guys and Gals Cuban rum traditionally has a distinct style, the way Agricole rum is distinctive, and navy rum is a distinct style. 1
