anacostiakat Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 I have two. A Avallo DDD cooled unit and an Aristocrat endtable unit. Both have served me well.
SmittyinAZ Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 Converted fridge all the way!!! I lined mine with a ton of thick cut Spanish cedar, running an Oasis XLpro and 2lbs Canada Humidor beads for humidity control, and it's rock solid. No need for temp control where I have it, so I removed the guts, but rewired the lights and thermometer. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1429211022.649388.jpg I like the look of it open or closed ImageUploadedByTapatalk1429211073.280291.jpg ImageUploadedByTapatalk1429211095.909862.jpg So cool. Well done.

KRunch61 Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 Ha! Ha! That's what I get for not posting a pic via Tapatalk!
Cohiba Stevie Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 Aristocrat user myself. Bob does awesome work. Mine came all the way from texas to ireland and i only have one regret. I should have went bigger. I am thinking of buying another one though...
free85 Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 I just bought a chest freezer, a temp controller, and I'll be getting a data logger next. Project time! Sourced the freezer online secondhand for $50 (in good shape, working, no serious odor).
markmurase Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 Aristocrat for me too. I've got the M-Plus 25''deep, temperature and humidity controlled (THC). As others have already said, Bob Staebell does beautiful work. I received my Aristocrat in December last year and it's fantastic. 1
markmurase Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 Some form of temperature control (in the humidor and/or the room it's in) is quite important, especially if you're in a location that has some hot months. You can't have stable Relative Humidity (RH) if the temperature is not stable. Humidity beads will help a lot, but there's a limit to what they can do. It's also really difficult for any humidor to keep consistent RH if it's in an environment that has greatly varying humidity. In Brisbane, we have very humid summers and often dry winters. Having my humidors in an air-conditioned room helps a lot, especially to keep the humidity and temperature down in summer. In air-conditioning, you'll need to top up the humidifier water quite often.
stunod Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 Have to agree with everyone. Bob Stabell from Aristocrat makes an increadable product. Everything made in his shop to order. Workmanship is second to none. I have 2. Pics to follow .
atlharp Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 I have an old glass top Vicksburg that's about to get set up again. Also a Cuban Crafters from way back. Both are top notch!
acidmase Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 A wooden furniture modified to fridge and 2 desktops omg love that humidor! where'd you pick that up?
LeafLover Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 A wooden furniture modified to fridge and 2 desktops Your tetris skills are very good.
kiwiman911 Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 I have and end table humidor and a few coolers and I just add a cooler when my addiction kicks in
hoyopr Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 Aristocrat for me too. I've got the M-Plus 25''deep, temperature and humidity controlled (THC). As others have already said, Bob Staebell does beautiful work. I received my Aristocrat in December last year and it's fantastic. Same Aristocrat on order and should be arriving in the next few weeks. 1
kyriakos Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 omg love that humidor! where'd you pick that up? Α carpenter built it for me and after that a cooling expert(I dont know if this is the right word)converted into a temperature control unit
soutso Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 I have converted my wine fridge into a unit that doesn't allow the temp to go over 20.5 Degrees Celsius and keeps my RH at between 61-62. (These are my own personal set points, they may be adjusted) My unit can add humidity when required and also dehumidify if required. When we do our next family portrait, I will proudly be standing next to this little unit below. The good wife and kids..... faded in the backround... 1
Popular Post ptrthgr8 Posted April 20, 2015 Popular Post Posted April 20, 2015 Aristocrat M-THC. Quite possibly the best investment I've ever made. Cheers, ~ Greg ~ 6
ptrthgr8 Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 What's that wood Greg? I expected a Wings emblem. It's maple. Rather nicely tiger striped maple. Bob sure knows how to build them. No Wings logo on the humidor proper, but there is a Pavel Datsyuk autographed puck on top. It's in the photo on the right. Cheers, Greg Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Tapatalk
danny Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 Currently have 3 large Desktops (100-150ct), Four - 36 x 24 x 18" cedar-lined air tight "tupper-dors", then about a dozen boxes in jumbo zip-lock bags laying around.... not the best set-up AT ALL. I've been planning on getting a tall cabinet humidor for a birthday present to myself but space is still a concern. I would love one of the nicer ones like some of the double, temp/humi. controlled cabinet some of you guys have posted but they cost a pretty penny after looking some them up! Maybe I can convert one of those drink fridges once I move since I have access to those from a family member.
