Lol.....first off I never thought TP was that great of a QB...second how can you compare getting tats and selling stuff for money to being accused of not one but two rape/sexual assault cases....I love my Buckeyes but I'll be the first to admit that they have had there share of thugs and criminals(MoClarrett) or Terrlle Pryor like you say....and if somebody talked trash about them I could care less because there football players...Jameis Winston is a piece of $hit... face it dood!

"not one but two rape/sexual assault cases" what 2 Since you seem to know this.

christ spare us. do you two want to get a room?

can we just agree he has a somewhat murky past which may or may not factor into decisions made by teams when it comes to drafting.

there is no way on the planet that each team does not look at character and background and record as well as footy ability, but unless a massive red flag, unlikely to put a team off. so it is relevant to the thread but highly unlikely to be the determining factor. are you both happy now?

actually, i don't care.

I wouldn't draft neither. To me a number #1 overall pick HAS TO BE a sure thing for the next 10 years. Neither Winston nor Mariota appear to be that. Trade down, get more picks, address other areas (it's not like the Bucks don't need help in other areas).

Disclosure: I am a Bears fan

Hahah good form Ken...

But, and I have to say this, you should care bc I'd take either of them over RG3 right about now, especially if you think he has what it takes to beat Dallas..

I kid, neither of those 2 fools will go anywhere in my opinion.. Be it a systematic based QB, a lurky personal past or whatever.. It takes a lot more then a set of legs to make it in the NFL as a feature QB for the long haul. Again, that's my opinion based on what we've seen the past decade or so.

I don't know why I decided to start this early Mr. Ken.. Feelin a bit more confident these days ?

I think the more important question to be asked here is --- WHY are you a Bucs fan?

Seriously, with 32 teams to choose from, you end up cheering for the Bucs? What kind of crazy thought process lead you that direction??? Please tell me it was more than the orange colors.... jester.gif

I am a lover of the American Football, a lover of the underdog and in the mid to late 70's there was no worse team that the Bucs.

Those awful uniforms, the awful play........brilliant! The team for me spotlight.gif

Bias aside from living in Tallahassee and being a lifelong FSU and Bucs fan, Winston without question. Outside of Luck he is the best QB prospect since Peyton.

I have no doubt that he'll represent our Bucs well. I envision his career falling between Dante Culpepper and Kurt Warner.

Everybody thrashes the deadskins Prez! No question, the Bucs should take Winston. Mariota is very close to his ceiling where as Winston has a much higher ceiling. Winston is big and makes the throws that you need to make in the NFL. 42%of Mariota's passes were less than 5 yards last year, plus he did not look that good against Florida St. and he looked awful against Ohio St. Oregon QB's are always hyped but there has not been a good one in the NFL since Dan Fouts.

Go big or go home. Winston it is. The bonus is with that pick people will start talking about and watching the Bucs again.

Florida State's Jameis Winston sued by sexual assault accuser
  • By Chase Goodbread

The woman who accused former Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston of a December 2012 sexual assault filed a civil lawsuit Thursday against Winston.

Erica Kinsman, of Zephyrhills, Florida, filed the suit, claiming sexual battery, assault, false imprisonment and "intentional infliction of emotional distress arising out of forcible rape," per the Tampa Bay Times.

Winston was not charged with a crime stemming from the encounter, which Winston has said was consensual. However, intense criticism of the way the case was handled by both Florida State and local police in Tallahassee, Florida, led not only to continuing questions about Winston's character, but a federal Title IX lawsuit filed by Kinsman against Florida State, as well. Winston was also brought before a school code of conduct hearing in December, but was not found to be in violation of any school conduct codes, either.

Kinsman's attorney, John Clune, released a statement after the lawsuit was filed.

"Over the past two years, this survivor of sexual violence has had to endure a delinquent police investigation, a hostile FSU athletic department, and Mr. Winston's bullying lawyer," Clune said in the statement. "But the more these forces sought to silence her, the more determined she has become to step forward and hold Jameis Winston accountable for his actions."

Winston's attorney, David Cornwell, responded to the suit:

"This stunt was expected. Ms. Kinsman's false accusations have already been exposed and rejected six times. This time will be no different. Mr. Winston welcomes the opportunity to clear his name with the truth," Cornwell's statement read. "Mr. Winston is looking forward to the upcoming draft. He will not permit this ploy to distract him as he begins the journey of fulfilling his lifelong dream of being a championship quarterback in the National Football League."

Winston is considered the top quarterback prospect in the NFL draft, and is the presumptive No. 1 overall pick of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after winning a national championship and a Heisman Trophy in two seasons as the Seminoles' starting quarterback. The NFL draft will begin on April 30 in Chicago, although Winston is not expected to be in attendance, as he has said he intends to stay home to be with his family.

Winston will be another wasted #1 pick on a quarterback. He is no Andrew Luck or even a Russell Wilson. This kid makes bad decisions off the field and it's wishful thinking hoping that with 10's of millions of dollars in his pocket he will magically figure it out. I would take Mariota everyday of the week and twice on Sunday for his maturity alone if I HAD to pick one or the other at #1. You can coach up a smart, talented, honest and good kid to play in the NFL - especially someone as physically gifted as Marcus. However, you can't coach the propensity to make bad decisions out of someone like Winston...

Winston > Mariota, unless Mariota is picked by his former Oregon coach, the crazy man Chip Kelly.

It's interesting, someone may not be the same guy if he went to the wrong team, check NBA STAR Andrew Bogut, he's much better a player compares to his rookie season, he has potential, but gotta be teams suitable for him. Winston style more common than most teams in NFL, and Mariota hit the rock when facing stronger LB.

There goes 2 straight seasons without a future icon QB, and now these two are unlikely to break this record. QB icon always has its mentality, for those HOFer I think only Steve Young lacked it, these two are Cam Newton-Phillip Rivers at most, not even meet Drew Brees's level.

Ok, Rob here is the move. Rivers wants out of San Diego. They are talking about moving to LA and he wants no part of it. Trade your first round pick to the Chargers for Rivers. Don't laugh. It's been talked about.

I think both rookies will be a bust. IMO
