stogieluver Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 you do realize that immigrants do not qualify for benefits right? No citizenship = not eligible. You do know that many vets are on welfare right? Don't you think the vets have earned those benefits? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk You do realize the illegals get free health care in the US by just simply showing up in an emergency room at a hospital? Not to mention wages paid in cash with no taxes paid. I don't begrudge anyone coming to this country as long as it is done through the legal process. I have to say, though, that most all of the Mexican's I've come in contact with work for a living here, and work damned hard. They work from daylight to dark. I have to admire them for that, unlike others who live their entire lives off the taxpaying citizen and complain it's not enough. Agree with you on the vet's, though.
Cmontoya79 Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 The economic system was set up to always need a source of cheep or free labor. It's supply and demand. There are many citizens, myself included who wouldn't touch 90% of the jobs that are done. As for the ER, well maybe we should just go around letting the doctors go against their oaths. Does it cost? likely, yes there is a cost, but it pales in comparison to the billions that the health industry profits. If we stopped blaming one another for problems and instead focused on solutions perhaps America would be a world leader again. We are a world power in name only. We live off the glory and legacy of the old America. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
kuma Posted April 11, 2015 Author Posted April 11, 2015 Ride the wave man "hang ten" and don't sweat it mates. It all comes out in the wash. nick2021 Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 Man, I hope the euro rate stays low for one more week lol 1
JohnS Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 politics = Everyone take a deep breath and try retrohaling! Economics works in cycles. Boom and bust periods are normal. In the first world we've had a boom period for a while in the late 20th century, but right now we're still adjusting for the Global Financial Crisis in 2008.
semifan1 Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 What sucks is I was traveling a lot in Europe between 2012-2013 when the Euro was high and buying a lot of CC's, now that it's low I'm not able to travel much, which sucks.
CaptainQuintero Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 Zimbabwean economics is an underused phrase nowadays
kuma Posted April 12, 2015 Author Posted April 12, 2015 nick2021 got that right. would like to see it (dollar) strong well into 2016. At the rate the ECB and the other governing bodies of Europe are performing fixing this mess may a long time. Remember the Germans are in control in Europe and they seem unwilling to bend much further to help countries that don't seem to care about cutting and rolling back their outdated ways of doing things. There is one country in general that still wants to do it the way they did things 20 yeARS ago and can't see that it is on a path of ruin. You have to give it to the English they rejected outright the use of the euro knew it was a matter of time before the **** hit the fan.
PaulP Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 The weak euro reflects the weakness in the european economies, but the strong dollar does not necessary reflect a strong US economy. European stocks are at an all time high. http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2015-04-09/european-stock-index-futures-advance-with-stoxx-600-near-record
Hash Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 European stocks are at an all time high. http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2015-04-09/european-stock-index-futures-advance-with-stoxx-600-near-record I am not sure if the increase in the prices of stocks in Europe is the result of solid economic activities, but recent upward movement in the European stock markets came largely from the ECB policy of Quantitative Easing (QE) , which increased the supply of money to commercial Banks to encourage them to lend out money to Businesses as to stimulate the economy. A good amount of that money found its way to the stock markets hence the upward movement.

mi000ke Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 Was in Milan the past week on vacation, and while the LCDH price list looked pretty expensive a few months ago when I booked the trip, the prices still felt pretty expensive! I was buying regardless. But with the €20 I saved, I bought a box of Toscano Antica Riserva as a souvenir.
