Stutho
Gday, I am looking to source some cedar to put inside a home made humidor. As I am in Australia some timbers are harder then other to source. Ubergosupro69
Spanish cedar. I've heard you can also use American red cedar, but it's not as good. Caveat, I have no experience with anything other than Spanish cedar
Fuzz
It is usually polite to introduce yourself before querying the forum. Take the time to get to know the forum and you will find it to be not only a great source of information, but also a great place to hang out. leftimatic
Spanish Cedar as far as I gather is a mahogany. Cedar of any other kind is a no no. Probably a thread somewhere here on the reasoning for that. But it is no good. I am chasing two rambunctious boys and cooking dinner at the moment so you may have to search this one out. Edit... Yah what Fuzz said too.
Baldy
Spanish cedar is a mahogany and therefore is expensive. Another mahogany can be used as a substitute. Of course plywood veneer with Spanish cedar lining works quite well too. Any type of real cedar is way to aromatic.
bigharpoon
Not sure where to source online but you are looking for cedrela odorata.

cris77
I got a PM from a moderator letting me know that I can put up details of the wood supplier. I got the timber from Anagote Timbers Pty Ltd 144 Renwick St, Marrickville NSW 2204(02) 9558 8444 they do have a website but it seems to be down atm (http://anagote.com) Just ask for Cigar box cedar. They have a variety of widths (from 100mm to 300mm) and lengths (2.7 m to 3.2m). They can dress the timber for a very reasonable price. Good luck
