Quint Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Looking for the brothers to decide what my next purchase should be Por Larranaga - Belicosos Extra or Por Larranaga - Encantos
Quint Posted March 26, 2015 Author Posted March 26, 2015 Both Thanks that helps lol, you ask the wife
JohnS Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 It's ultimately up to you Quint to decide, but I think that the Por Larranaga - Encantos are favoured more right now on our forum.

Yep I Know, but I've had neither so I figured I have a little fun trying to decide. Plus I trust peoples opinions here for the most part. Thanks for your input.

Laxman Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Bellicosos all day long. I enjoy the encantos and think in a few more years they are going to really shine but as of the last year the 08 Belicosos have really come into there own. I love larger ring gauges so I am bias. Either way you should get both at some point.
earthson Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Encantos. Partially for the reason Laxman recommended the Belis - ring gauge - but the Encantos also seem to have a better blend than the Belis. I've only had two Belis, but they were both ho-hum.
Fuzz Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 Encantos, Encantos, and more Encantos. Edit: Actually, now that I think about it, buy the PLBE. Leaves more Encantos for me!
PapaDisco Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 I just got a cab of the Encantos (2012) last month from El Pres and they really are smoking quite well ROTT. You can taste the sweet, dark butter that's slowly on its way to caramel in 3 years. So, if you want something that you can smoke now and also be entertained experiencing it change over the next 3 years then the Encantos fill the bill. I have no experience with the Belicosos, so I can't compare the two, but you won't be disappointed with the Encantos. 1
SofaKing Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 Depends, the Belicosos are at their peak now so you have an aged stick from the get go. I have a box and a half and my first box is a little better than the 2nd half box thus far. If you can find the robustos RE 2007 hands down get those over the Belicosos. Havent tried the Encantos but its a totally different size but well regarded and seems like you can enjoy ROTT and/or put them aside for future aging. Maybe buy the Belicosos and do a split or a trade to "try before you commit to a full box., Encantos are going anywhere soon.
polarbear Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 Smoke now- Belis Smoke later- Encantos Smoke now AND later- PLPCs (they're also cheaper) 2
Quint Posted March 27, 2015 Author Posted March 27, 2015 New wife Send me your phone number she wants a word with you.....
Stogieninja Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 Buy both, split the boxes, keep half of each.
earthson Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 Caveat: Get the robustos RE 2007 if you can find them for a fair price. Don't know what they'll be like in 5 years, but they're outstanding now. 1
luv2fly Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Would love to get my hands on the Encantos.
Dimmers Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 I only have the Encantos and do recommend it. As many have said, it has legs as well. Also I am a big fan of the Robustos 2007. Beautiful sticks. If you can source them and not too pricey, a worthy purchase.
