El Presidente Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Crikey I haven' had one of these in so long. I thought it time for a revisit. Right now I a am smoking a R&J Cedros De Luxe number 2. (Corona). The Cedros De Luxe number 2 was never a cigar I smoked many of in this lineup preferring the Cedros De Luxe number 3 (Petit Corona). I had always found it the most flavoursome of the 1/2/3/ Well into the opening third. Delicate, under medium bodied, hints of dried fruit sweetness. Quite silky on the palate. I will post a little more as I go through it. However what are members opinions on the Cedros De Luxe?
riazp Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 that cigar will always have a special place in my heart. It was the first cigar i smoked. Picked one up at a local montreal cigar shop not really knowing what i was picking other than it was relatively cheap and a cuban cigar. Needless to say it got me hooked. I have not smoked one since then but i will have to revisit them soon for sure now that you bring it up
spirit Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Not quite the same line but my first box was RyJ Cononitas en Cedros, which came back from my honeymoon in Cuba back in 2010 - wish I'd known then what I know now about CC's. Still got 15 of them left, it's probaby time for a revisit. I've had 2 of them which wowed me so far and the others I just thought were pretty flat...
El Presidente Posted March 9, 2015 Author Posted March 9, 2015 No real evolution or change into the last third. Good cigar. Enjoying the sweet dried fruit notes and it's poise. No rough edges. Not really enjoying the dryness to the smoking experience. It leaves my mouth dry after draws. Not something I come across often and no doubt due to the cedar.
Bartolomeo Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Havent had a Cedros in a while but the RyJ #4 is pretty good fresh right now Back to topic 1

Rye Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Much like Riazp, they were my first cigar smoked. Grabbed singles in Victoria BC back in the mid-90's. A great intro to cigars, and I really should grab a few to have when I want to reminisce old times. I have no idea how they stack up nowadays though
StumpyJoe Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Hey Prez, a few years ago you mentioned how much you enjoyed the Cedros de Luxe #3 and how you felt it was the pick of the bunch. I bought a box from you and as always you selected a stellar box. Great cherry flavors, can't remember if it was fresh or stewed, and I loved the cedar sleeves. I must have liked them because I can only find one in my stash. Never had a chance To try the #1 or #2. I've been thinking of placing an order for them but couldn't remember if it was the #2 or #3 that I purchased...so...how are the #3's smoking?
Londonguy Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Was lucky enough to pick up some aged No.1's at the corner of Davies and Bourdon street in Mayfair. Very complex. I still have a fist-full left. If I ever want to take my senses on a trip back to that humidor, then I just inhale the sweet smell of the habanos...and I'm back in Bourdon House....
saintsmokealot Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 One of my first in the CC realm but it has been some many years since I've had one I can't comment on current production.
headstand Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Smoked through a box a couple of years ago that were much as you're describing it Rob. The first few seemed to promise potential for increased complexity with age, so I held off for half a year. Came back to them, but found them stuck in a rut: mild, dryish smoke, subtle and simple flavours. Did not sign up for another box.
RijkdeGooier Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 Currently smoking a RyJ Cedros de Luxe No.1 from the 1970's. After 40 years this is still an enjoyable smoke! Will update with my usual review later on
dougincanada Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 If the recent improvement to the Coronitas De Cedro has carried through to the larger sizes I say buy em. As a basic Cuban smoke the improved quality makes them worth inclusion in to your cigar rotation. It seems recently RyJ has been on the quality upswing. Lets hope the keep it up. Regards, Doug
Overproof Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 Noticed this morning there's a LCDH release coming/available. 50 x 141 Anyone tried them yet? 1
Lotusguy Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 Pretty ambitious pricing I have seen... Still want to try one.
Lant63 Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 Pretty ambitious pricing I have seen... Still want to try one.Ambitious yes, but arguably online with the res of the lcdh releases. Sent by telepathic super powers -Stogie Boy
jerryr Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 The RyJ Credos is a cigar that is always in by humi, although I tend to prefer the No 3. Having said that I currently have open boxes of Credos No 2 and No 3 Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
ErikB Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 Smoked them in the nineties, but liked the tubos better
CaptainQuintero Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 About to smoke them Sweet! Let us know what you think of it! 1
