purpleloki Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 I turned my Koldfront 28 bottle wine cooler into a wineador and had a question about temperature in reference to aging cigars. To get a stable RH I find I have to I have to keep my winedor at 61 degrees. With conventional wisdom being to store cigars at a warmer temperature I was wondering how would the cooler temp affect my cigars? Is it negligible or something I need to address? I live in Florida and my house is usually about 73 degrees. What do you think?
Ryan Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 61 degrees is a great temperature for long/medium term aging. Some people for very long term (>10 years) aging will go down to 55F. I think 60-65F is great for medium aging. I say that because they're the temps I'm at and it works for me. 1
Skyfall Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 Most people with efficient temp controlled units, that practice long term aging will prefer lower temps. I keep my temp and rh steady and strong at around 63F and 63rh, my long term aging boxes (10 years plus) are kept around 57F. 1
