I still have a partial cab left. This is the only Le I ever bought. I liked (not loved) them fresh, they were o.k. But, to my tastes they have always been going downhill. I should try one today and see what it is now and ill post.

I liked them young as well. Seemed that the more they aged, the less I cared for them though.

Loved these a year or two after they came out. As result of this thread I smoked one today and, while it does seem to have mellowed a bit, the flavors have melded and is still enticing to me. This box was wrapped until a few months ago though so that may have contributed.

Mag 48 LE is one of those cigars that polarizes opinion right down the line. People either love them or hate them with not too many in between.

If you do love them then i recommend purchasing a box as availability can't last forever. At $265 or thereabouts you get an aged cigar of something you enjoy that you can smoke over the next 12 months or so. No brainer to my mind. I don't have any so no skin in the game but there are still plenty out there elsewhere. Happy to provide a referral if anyone needs it. Just PM me.

Been trying mine about once every 3months for the past year, had one last week and I give it two thumbs up! The few before that were so-so. Id say my ERO sep09 are comming into prime right now. Need to have a few more to be 100% sure.

They were still available under $200 in Cuba last year. Now they sold out. One of the best deals in Cuba for the last 2 years. All the boxes I had I love! Now the love is gone just empty boxes.

Well yes, if they were cheaper than the going rate of a psd5 box I'm sure they would all be gone by now. But I've never been able to work out how Habanos SA figures out their pricing. Chimp with darts?

They are good and not so good boxes out there.

From my experience from my box they are still getting better. Smoking very good atm.

No idea how they will be in a year or two.

Remember Rob mentioned last year that they may be at their peak.

This is partially correct... I have gone through 5 boxes, and still have 5 more that I am working through. The best boxes are still not at their peak, and have many years to go. The ok boxes are at their peak or going past quickly. You know as soon as you crack the seal if they are high quality or not...

I've only had 3 from my box. The first two several yrs ago left me less than impress. Typical LE flavor with the maduro characteristics that turned me off of NCs. I partially regretted the decision of buying them. Just a few weeks ago I had my most recent Mag 48. While I still don't love these, I did enjoy it. Big big improvement from 2 yrs ago. I'm not sure how these will age long term, but I think they have at least several years to go.

So I love these things and asked Rob what he has in stock that offers a similar chocolatey smoke and he said he didn't have any. Asked my B&M today and he had to regret as well.

Anyone else able to recommend another stick that is even somewhat similar?
