Piligrim Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 It's interesting, but in Russia we can buy a plenty of vitolas, which aren't produced any more. So, I wrote before we have a vinage cigar smoking project in Siberian Cigar Club. This time we've smoked a Hoyo de Monterrey Hoyo Coronas. This vitola was produced since 1960 until 2007. And those were made in 2001. Box and cigars looks pretty old. An old vintage band, nice velvet wrapper and pleasant aroma. This cigar is pretty light. As for me draw was fine, but 2 of us (there were 10) had a tight draw. Sweet creamy taste and floral tones, with a hint of nuga and spicy undertones. It wasn't a long smoke and I prefer to smoke this vitola without any alcohol next time, but it was good enough.
CaptainQuintero Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 Great stuff! I ran a blind tasting with a box of them a couple of years back, 1998 ones though I think. Plenty of pencil wood in them. 1
ChanceSchmerr Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 I had a box that were pretty tasty as well, although draw issues plagued about 1/4 of the box. C'est la vie for 2001......... 1
