tmac77 Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 Anything Kelly says for the press is all smoke and mirrors.
riazp Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 boy oh boy am i glad i'm not an eagles fan...this better work out or i know a coach and gm that will be out of a job soon... Jets are looking like the offseason winners so far....brigning back the combo of Revis and Cro..."threats" at WR...Suh going to the Phins...Pats losing Revis and Browner and others (although im not too worried about them as long as billicheck and brady are there) AFC east is looking really interesting.
Ken Gargett Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 DeMarco Murray......you are dead to me! so jones would not pay him what he was worth, based on market value, and he chose to move on to a team that would and he is dead to you? harsh. very harsh. mind you, i'd have been a lot happier if he'd have moved out of the division. still, it could be worse. you could be the skins. consider our new you-beaut defensive coordinator (we call him mr 0-16 after his time with the lions). the bloke came from the chargers. he looked after their defence. one of his key players from his entire time there – safety marcus gilchrist – is in free agency. was one of the skins highest priority targets. instead, he chose to join a crowded backfield for the jets. the jets! how low have we fallen. but what does it say about mr 0-16 that one of his key players would rather go to the jets and fight for a spot than join us and walk into a spot. and you can bet they were flashing money. and we had a number of options to take seriously good and highly regarded defensive coordinators. oh dan! please dump gruden as fast as possible. another long season ahead. i'd be very interested in your thoughts on this nonsense going around that the skins will draft mariotta. way to instill confidence in RG3. i really hate gruden.
Cigar Surgeon Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 Jets fan. Pretty happy with the offseason moves so far. Going from one of the worst secondaries in the league to potentially one of the best. Now if we can get a QB in place...

Now if we can get a QB in place... What, Ryan Fitzpatrick isn't the future All kidding aside Fitz to B Marsh does look pretty nice, especially with a beefed up defense and recommitment to the run game. Always thought Chris Ivory needed 20+ touches a game, I'm sure you're glad to see CJ gone.

But you can't win football games without a solid passing game. Fitzmagic is a better option than Geno but the team, as always, needs a franchise QB.
smpf67 Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 Hopefully not a new QB. We are stuck with Cutler. At least they have made some small improvements on D!
Ken Gargett Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 how to make a career decision????? "Anton Rolle said he took to one knee Sunday night and prayed for a sign from God to help him make the right career move. "God, I pray that you just give me a level head," Rolle said, detailing the words of his prayer. "I pray that you just give me a sign to lead me in the right direction, and I'll follow your lead." Rolle said he woke up early the next morning to an email alert on his phone reading, "Orbitz alert: Flights to Chicago, discount fare."". and promptly signed for chicago.
reghax Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 I'm an Eagles fan, not really sure what to think of the moves so far. I will wait and see how the draft plays out before I get too emotionally invested in any of the pickups. The Bradford move was surprising but now that the dust has settled I'm fine with it. He has a chance to be a decent starter or he will be trade bait, either works for me.

By trade value for Bradford I only really meant it in the short term leading up to the draft. Multiple sources from both sides said that a team was offering a late first round pick for him. I still think that Kelly will go for Mariota and that Bradford is part of the deal, possibly in a 3 team swap somehow. If the Eagles get to week 1 and Bradford is still on the roster then I can't see them trading him. Either he does well in Kelly's system and signs a long term deal, or he walks to free agency.

Either he does well in Kelly's system and signs a long term deal, or he walks to free agency. it is going to be an interesting draft - understand what you say re trade value now. if bucs go winston then a lot would presumably depend on what titans do. if want a QB then trades gone. they don't go QB then leaves it to oakland and jags and skins as one assumes jets would take him (of course, never know). would jags and raiders trade? eagles would have to give up a bucketload but neither side after a QB so unless they can get a third team involved then you have to wonder of the eagles have enough to give. can't see kelly giving away too many first round picks from down the track. so then it would be down to the skins. new GM does not have a history of trading down but if we could get a really good deal they might. lots of holes, though you'd hope that they'd give RG3 a go to play uninjured (wish they'd trade gruden). i don't see them taking bradford from the eagles. and i don't see them taking mariota. i also don't see the eagles having enough to give to them, or kelly agreeing but i would not be against it if they did offer us heaps. so i suspect the jets might have him. but all that could be so far off. riazp - in saying, pray he drops to 5, i assume you think skins will trade?
wabashcr Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 I can't imagine Bradford with his injury history and limited success when healthy would have more trade value than Foles. They also traded a 2nd round pick to get Bradford. I just don't see the Eagles having enough to trade up ahead of the Jets at 6 to get Mariotta. Their only hope now is that Mariotta's sub-par showing at his pro day causes him to drop out of the top 10. I still think Tennessee makes this all moot and takes him at 2. Who knows when they'll have another chance at a guy like Mariotta?
ZAZ Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Saints fan here. They're definitely making some positive moves (IMO) and I'm really looking forward to this season.
riazp Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 Wilfork to the Texans...who is left on NE Defense? if i was a pats fan id start getting worried...
zrotfus Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 Wilfork to the Texans...who is left on NE Defense? if i was a pats fan id start getting worried... But man that Texan D line is going to terrorize quarterbacks! Especially if Clowney can get and stay healthy.
