A couple we are good friends with were having a lively discussion over dinner this weekend. The guy wants to buy a Jeep Wranger as his 'mid-life crisis car'.

Surprising choice I thought (and I love jeeps). More surprising his wife categorically ruled it out.

What's your poison (if you were buying?)

Hard to go past a camaro.

I completely agree - One can't afford a nice Sports car of any sort when you're in your 20's, 30's (Most of us ) so you work hard and then can afford a nice car later in life. So I too hate the term

I've never understood why it is considered a crisis to finally be able to afford that which you have always desired. My pick changes on a daily basis but lately it teeters between a Viper or a GTR. Or

Anything Convertible

A Camaro or Mustang would prob top my list

If my pockets were deeper I'd prob look to the Germans or Italians

Harley Davidson !

Men usually don't ever go into a second childhood because they seldom outgrow the first one. I know that's the case with me.

Only one car would do the trick and that would be a 2-3 year old Porsche Turbo S. I think I'm 25+ years or so away from a mid-life crisis though. Or on a budget, a e39 M5 would be a fun choice.

Does a Jabiru 230 count Dux?

Had my MLC back in 2011 and bought a plane. Well, a share in one anyway!

Agree completely. I would probably go with a MB, though as a mustang owner, can't argue with it!

My next goal car is a C6 ZO6 Corvette. I have lots of dream cars, but most won't ever become a reality. However, maybe in a few more years the vette will appear in the third bay of the garage only to ever reveal itself on sundays sneaky.gif

For me the choices have been a 1969 Alfa Romeo 1750 spider and a 1989 Mercedes 560SEC.

The Alfa is a wonderful restoration and the Mercedes is a 61,000 mile original.

I enjoy them both very much. They are fine compliments to each other.
