Duxnutz Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 A couple we are good friends with were having a lively discussion over dinner this weekend. The guy wants to buy a Jeep Wranger as his 'mid-life crisis car'. Surprising choice I thought (and I love jeeps). More surprising his wife categorically ruled it out. What's your poison (if you were buying?) Hard to go past a camaro.
polarbear Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 Anything Convertible A Camaro or Mustang would prob top my list If my pockets were deeper I'd prob look to the Germans or Italians 1
Hemsworth Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 I've never understood why it is considered a crisis to finally be able to afford that which you have always desired. My pick changes on a daily basis but lately it teeters between a Viper or a GTR. Or maybe a 1973 Ford Falcon XB GT. 4
Duxnutz Posted February 9, 2015 Author Posted February 9, 2015 I'm with you Hemsworth, that was my argument. 3
DWC Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 Harley Davidson ! Men usually don't ever go into a second childhood because they seldom outgrow the first one. I know that's the case with me.
dangolf18 Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 Only one car would do the trick and that would be a 2-3 year old Porsche Turbo S. I think I'm 25+ years or so away from a mid-life crisis though. Or on a budget, a e39 M5 would be a fun choice. 2
Coolio Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 Does a Jabiru 230 count Dux? Had my MLC back in 2011 and bought a plane. Well, a share in one anyway! 1
jkdooley Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 If he happens to approaching the "50" milestone then this is one to consider! http://www.caranddriver.com/photo-gallery/2015-ford-mustang-50th-anniversary-edition-photos-and-info-news

I would probably go with a MB, though as a mustang owner, can't argue with it!
rigby Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 One word... Testarossa... ultimate mid-life car.

I completely agree - One can't afford a nice Sports car of any sort when you're in your 20's, 30's (Most of us ) so you work hard and then can afford a nice car later in life. So I too hate the term mid life crisis. Oh and for me it's easy choice ON A SERIOUS NOTE: THIS IS MY CHOICE 5
SofaKing Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 Porsche 356 Excellent choice, I will take a 57/58 Carrera GT since we are dreaming
riazp Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 i gotta agree with the Maserati Quatro porte. still reasonable 4 door sedan but extremely fun to drive
CoCigarSmoker Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 My next goal car is a C6 ZO6 Corvette. I have lots of dream cars, but most won't ever become a reality. However, maybe in a few more years the vette will appear in the third bay of the garage only to ever reveal itself on sundays 1
dvickery Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 As long as we are talking about impossible to obtain toys ... 1904 rolls Royce 10hp Derrek
TheLiquidGator Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 For me the choices have been a 1969 Alfa Romeo 1750 spider and a 1989 Mercedes 560SEC. The Alfa is a wonderful restoration and the Mercedes is a 61,000 mile original. I enjoy them both very much. They are fine compliments to each other.
