BradNC Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 Hello all. I'm hoping one of you might be able to help me. I recently bought myself a lighter, an S.T. Dupont Ligne 2 Liberte Torch lighter. The seller is reputable but I noticed when I take off the gas cap, a color isn't indicated inside the cap as on standard flame lighters. I've read that is a big "no no" with traditional flame lighters from Dupont but this isn't a traditional flame. I was wondering if anyone here has this same lighter and can verify or not for me if a color is indicated on the inside of your cap of this particular torch lighter. They didn't make them for long it appears so limited information seems to be available and I've read they don't make fakes of this particular model (and I hope that is true). I appreciate the help. I just received it today so if I'm going to return it sooner would be better than later I'm guessing. Feel free to shoot me a PM or respond here. Thanks! Brad
Lotusguy Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 Never heard of fakes of this model. I would assume they also don't use the special cartridges, right? The color dot usually indicates what kind of cartridge to use (yellow, red, green)
BradNC Posted January 31, 2015 Author Posted January 31, 2015 Thanks for the reply! I can't tell if it uses special cartridges since it is my first Dupont and I'm not sure what one requiring special gas would look like. Below is a picture. Picture looks blurry but about as clear as I could get it with the light at hand. Looks like a notch is in the middle - different from other butane lighters I've had. Thanks again. Never heard of fakes of this model. I would assume they also don't use the special cartridges, right? The color dot usually indicates what kind of cartridge to use (yellow, red, green)
Lotusguy Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 Doesn't look like it would need cartridges - those are threaded. You don't have a manual?
BradNC Posted January 31, 2015 Author Posted January 31, 2015 Lotusguy, you're a genius! lol...I don't read manuals before putting things together either. If I'm not mistaken, the X.tend refill is standard butane but of course I would want to use the good stuff as to avoid problems. : ) I have super SToK butane and xikar but the SToK is supposedly better so I will probably go that route. I appreciate the help. Have a good one!
